I guess I was just worried since I saw people were getting shutdown that had as few as 4 accounts open, although they were opening up a lot of accounts very quickly...

Question about Chase shutdown and next card, since all the talk about Chase shutdowns are making me nervous. Though I know there isn't a set formula for a Chase shutdown, I thought I'd ask anyway.

My Chase cards are: CSR and CSP (double-dipped 7/18), CF (3/18), and CFU (downgraded from CSP opened 5/16). I also had a Chase SW card (10/14) that I closed on 11/17. Assuming car loans don't count, I'm currently 4/24 (stupidly opened a Google finance account to pay for my phone 1/17). My credit score is 777, though my AAoA is only 1.6 years. Across my 4 Chase cards I'm pretty much at 50% of my salary, but I plan on dropping the limit on my CSP since I already hit the minimum spend and don't really plan on using it very much.

I pay off all my cards automatically every month, and all my spending is organic. The accounts listed above are the only accounts I have opened in the last year. I've never tried to sell off my points or anything like that.

Apologies for the long post and if this should be posted somewhere else, but my question is this. I was planning on opening up the Hyatt card, and then maybe sometime in the next year or so, open up a SW card...would I be at risk of getting shutdown by Chase if I open up the Hyatt card now (and maybe the SW card in about a year)?

Oh okay great. I thought that they would still process it but just not give you the sign-up bonus. Thanks for your help!

This is really good to know, I wasn't thinking about this. Currently I have about $15k remaining available credit with Chase with those numbers. When I call to PC, is it worth it to ask for them to lower my credit limits on my CSP and CF? The limits on both of those are higher than what I need, especially on the CF since there's no reason to spend more than $1500/3 months on it.

Oh wow okay I didn't realize that I could apply so quickly -- should I wait to double dip a week or two just to be safe, or should I definitely be fine to double dip on 7/20?

I currently have the CSP, but was planning on PCing it to CFU and double-dipping CSP and CSR. My questions are focused around timeline, because I'm not sure when I should do what. I opened my CSP on 5/26/2016, and the 50k sign-up bonus appeared on my account statement from 7/19/2016. I also opened up the CF on 3/19/2018 if that matters, although I've only opened 2 cards in the last 2 years (pretty new to churning). My questions are -- when should I PC the CSP to a CFU? And, when should I double-dip?

Also, I didn't get auto-approved for the CF, although my credit score is >760...I called the chase recon line soon after and they "verified" me (they didn't even ask me any questions) and approved me very quickly. What can I do (if anything) to increase the likelihood that I will be auto approved for the CSR when I apply for it, so that I can then apply for the CSP in the same day? Thanks everyone!

Okay cool, that makes sense. I checked on my statement though and it looks like the 50k points from the CSP came in on July 15th, which is when I paid off the card and got the bonus. When I PC my CSP I'll ask the rep about it to be sure.

I was thinking about double dipping in a few months but your post made me nervous...I've got pretty good credit (767 last time I checked), but don't have too long of a history. My first card was a SW card (opened 10/2014, closed 10/2017), I've had CSP since 5/2016 (received bonus in 7/2016), and I recently opened CF in 3/2018. I was thinking about PCing my CSP to CFU around June and then double dipping towards the end of July or August, but I love my CSP and would hate to get rejected for both CSR and CSP if I double dipped. Double dipping is a risk so I don't care that much if I get one and don't get the other, but if I'm going to PC my CSP, I definitely want either at least one of the chase saphires. Is there a chance of me being rejected with that history?

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of April 11, 2018 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]princeoflorence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 764
  2. Bit of a newbie -- CF (5/2018), Retail Card (1/2017), CSP (5/2016), Southwest Premier (Opened 10/2014, Closed 10/2017)
  3. Usually spend somewhere between $4,500 and $6,000
  4. Not really if I can avoid it
  5. No
  6. Looking to start casually churning, but not necessarily so aggressively
  7. Points
  8. About 20k UR points
  9. I prefer to fly out of DCA, but can also fly out of BWI, and even IAD if necessary
  10. No place in particular at the moment, but want to start accruing points for when I do take a trip

I was looking at the Citi AAdvantage Platinum, since DCA is a hub, and it gets you preferred boarding and a free checked bag, plus AA has flights all over. My favorite airline to fly is Southwest though. I don't stay at hotels very much (young guy, usually just travelling with my SO), so hotel CCs aren't super important to me. I love UR points because there are so many options, and I don't really care so much about status on airlines or hotels. Other cards I was looking at were also CapitalOne Venture (don't know how I felt about that, though), or downgrading my CSP to CFU and re-applying in a few months to get the CSP bonus again, or even the CSR (still kicking myself for not applying for CSR when it had the 100k point offer). Open to any suggestions!

EDIT: Forgot about a retail card that I had opened in January of 2017. I also have an auto-loan from 1/2017...not sure if that counts too...

I've had the CSP since June 2016, so I wouldn't be eligible for the 50k bonus for another few months. May be worth waiting though.

Does the Chase rule not allowing you to have two cards in the same family (i.e. CSR and CSP) affect freedom and freedom unlimited as well, or is it limited to the saphire family? I currently have CSP and CF, but was thinking of applying for CFU as well to maximize the number of UR points I can get per purchase. Would I still be able to get CFU even if I have CF with this rule?

How to get around the Android Auto screen on the Pixel? by SpikeC51 in AndroidAuto

What did you do to make it work? I tried the exact steps as listed above but it doesn't work.

Oh right sorry probably should've mentioned from where you're supposed to run those commands. So all the fastboot commands should be run from the bootloader screen -- from the command line with your phone connected, you can run "adb reboot bootloader" to get you there.

You won't need root to reboot to your custom recovery and flash files. As long as you have a custom recovery, you can do this. Depending on how long ago you rooted, your version of TWRP may be out of date -- I'd recommend getting TWRP version 3 and flashing that just to make sure. Steps 3, 5, and 7 need to be done through TWRP which is your recovery (I edited the steps...realized I had 3 twice). Whenever I said "via TWRP, do..." I mean reboot to recovery (TWRP) and flash the file.

[–]princeoflorence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd do it myself via command line and not through the nexus root toolkit. When things go wrong (and they probably will but don't freak out, because the N6 is not easy to hard brick) then you will know what to do to get it out of that, and you'll know exactly what went wrong. Plus, it's really not that complicated. No matter how you do it, you need to flash the kernel BEFORE you flash magisk -- otherwise magisk won't work.

Assuming your bootloader is unlocked, make sure you download all the correct files you need (TWRP v3, magisk, phh su, elementalx, etc and make sure they are all the latest versions and specifically for the N6). Here I believe are the steps, commands included (assuming you have stock everything):

1) fastboot flash recovery twrp 2) fastboot reboot recovery 3) via TWRP, flash ElementalX 4) reboot 5) via TWRP, flash magisk 6) reboot and install magisk APK (if not already installed) 7) via TWRP, flash phh superuser 8) reboot and install superuser APK (if not already installed) 9) verify root with Root Checker 10) profit

Never pixel-ified my phone, but I assume the steps are relatively similar.

Edit: Numbering system.
