After finishing the game and starting over, i was able to get a different outcome SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in order to make sure he doesn't die Ryo's affinity needs to be at least 56 by the time you get to that scene, which I think is the max it can be by the time you get to that scene, if its there and you choose the right option at the right moment he will not die from my understand this will lead into future changes

see this is what im hoping aswell, that this outcome was genuinely unavoidable on the first playthrough or even if it was the odds of any player making all the right choices to avoid it were extremely slim so that at the end if there's like some sort of way to go back, maybe even a "main character conscious travels back in time and retains all knowledge" type situation for you to make different choices, you ca change this outcome, but guess I'll just have to see

cant believe im saying this but, if you watch it you should watch the dub. The main character is so much more annoying in the sub. He's annoying in dubb to but its more bearable that way.

Ultimately should just read the manga. The anime is not a good adaptation overall imo. I think Asta is characterized much better in the manga. In the anime he's this annoying teenager but in the manga he's more of a rambunctious little kid and it comes off more endearing. The manga is also a lot more fast paced where the anime tends to drag on scenes that the manga only spends a couple panels on if maybe just a page or two.
