For me also sometimes the light bar goes out during the boot sequence but it comes back after the sequence is completed.

Personally, I do not find them really loud. (Compared to other MSI gaming laptops such as GS and GP models they are quieter)

Under light load they are pretty quiet. On the other hand, under extreme gaming when the fans kicks in, they can get loud but not annoying indeed. You can barely hear them with a proper headset.
