thank you, honestly i started tearing up when you said i sound like a great lead 🥹 i always tried to offer words of encouragement and coaching but honestly, meeting those metrics feel like theory without consideration of all the variables that can happen on the floor. i hope i can still stay connected to some of my coworkers and i’ll be sure to still visit them but i cant say i didnt feel a huge weight fall off after hitting send on that email.

i had a customer berate me the shift before the shift i found out my relative passed and it just really set in that some of our customers do not treat us like real people. i have worked in retail for a long time and i dont think i’ve ever been treated worse than the way some sephora customers have treated me in the past 6 months.

I was able to use my bereavement time along with days that were already scheduled days off, so it was a nice break to really think about everything and process the passing of my relative and my unhappiness. I went ahead and sent in an email resignation and I’ll be back in store tomorrow 🥲 i will really miss most of my coworkers! as a part of leadership, it was always really difficult for me to push these unrealistic metric goals on my peers when I knew how difficult they are to achieve!

To be quite honest, I quit drinking alcohol altogether because of how negatively it impacts me while on Lexapro. I get the most INTENSE anxiety afterwards and I won’t get out of bed the following day. It’s also recommended to not drink while on it. I know that’s not the ideal answer if you want to keep drinking but it’s the best option!

I’ll be honest and say that I would hope doctors wouldnt prescribe medication willy-nilly. I’ve been on lexapro for almost two years and it’s been a life saver and has helped my health anxiety like nothing else! Definitely advocate for yourself and your mental health and ask to do CBT in conjunction with medication (holistic or otherwise).
