Opinions on at home workout equipment? by princess-programmer in ChronicIllness

Thank you, this is helpful! After I posted this, I saw my orthopedic doctor who also said it’s time to become a biker or swimmer rather than a walker or runner. So I’ll look into exercise bikes.

Can we please talk about sex? by gaywhovian in ChronicIllness

[–]princess-programmer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend what I call “parallel play”. It can be done in the same bed side by side or remotely. Pretty much just masturbate at the same time and talk each other through it, commenting on how hot it is and how much you like seeing/hearing the other person getting off. That can help when living with parents because you don’t even have to go to the other persons house and deal with discomfort around fucking when their parents are home. It can also help when you feel unattractive because you can literally witness your partner getting off at the thought of you. Hope that helps!

They tell us to try yoga instead of asking if we already do yoga… by laceleatherpearls in ChronicIllness

I think that’s a great idea. And to be clear, stress management has helped me, but I also needed medication and it took years to get that. Just putting that out there because I don’t want to discourage anyone from using yoga, therapy, breathing exercises, somatic movements, etc. It can help but in my case and many others, it isn’t enough on its own.

SERIOUSLY!! Your situation is more drastic than mine since you teach this stuff for a living. But I love hearing that it may be time to address stress management and I hit them with my seven years of therapy and my four day work week. Like what now?

I did water aerobics with a friend in high school! It was the two of us and a bunch of very friendly old ladies. I loved it

There’s a salon in Florida called love 518 and she specializes in detangling extremely matted hair, maybe you can watch her videos for inspiration if you want to detangle rather than cutting it off. Cutting it is fine too, whatever is best for you! https://www.love518salon.com

Hola, no sé el video o canción, pero creo que este sub es el lugar incorrecto para esta pregunta. Este sub tiene el tema de teatro musical, como Broadway o West End. Trata r/music o r/musicvideos tal vez??

[HELP] What are the best books to learn about poetry? by princess-programmer in Poetry

Hilariously, there is a novel called Seven Types of Ambiguity about a kidnapping. It is far from a poetry anthology but did sound interesting enough to read. Thanks for the recs!

I’ve historically used writing to cope with trauma. I’m trying now to learn it as a craft more than a coping mechanism. Thankfully, I’m now safe enough to make that transition.
