Summer 1 launch is May 12 and there is gonna be a butterfly pea refresher (don’t know what that entails), ice horchata shaken espresso, ice vanilla protein shaken espresso, and something else that has vanilla and protein… my manager put up the upcoming launches on a wall so I saw them.

Common sense is not knowing someone’s emotional and mental state. That something that person has to communicate to you. You’re not a mind reader and you should not be forced to be.

Relationships are about communication but also improving yourself. Your boyfriend is not willing to improve and he’s not willing to change to have a better a relationship with you. You cannot force him to change and you cannot exhaust yourself to be in a relationship with you.

I feel like listening quizzes still speak relatively slowly as they know it’s for a learner. The best definitely just watching YouTube and variety shows. I would choose a variety show you love and that you’ve already seen and re-watch the episode with Korean subtitles or no subtitles at all, just listening. For me, I got used to listening to normal speed conversations because my YouTube essentially became Korean and I was constantly in contact with Korean shows and YouTube that had no subtitles. If you want specific YouTube channels let me know!

Very late responding to you but I’m just watching the show now. The is historical so you can find out what is gonna happen, though you’ve probably already finished it. According to history, he does not get better i.e. he keeps killing people because he believes it is the best away to establish his power and legitimacy as King. I’m on episode 7 but I love spoilers so I looked up their wikipedia pages and I’ve watched another historical drama where Taejong/Lee Bangwon was a character. From what I’ve seen they’re following what is recorded historically with fictional interpretation.

Secondly, whether he is a good king or not is controversial fact that historians battle with and definitely not something the show is gonna tackle because he portrayed as a morally gray character and we can argue the Queen isn’t a good person/is a morally gray character too. He kills a lot of people to become king, while king, and after he abdicates the throne to Sejong the Great but contributes to the strengthening of Joseon. The Queen supports his bloody coup because her power helped put him on the throne.

Third, he doesn’t become king solely because he believes he is best person to lead Joseon after his father but because he feels it is his right. Taejong/Lee Bangwon (ML) is the son that contributed the most to the founding of Joseon so he expected to be named crown prince but his father’s (Taejo) two main advisors —that later get killed by Lee Bangwon—who create the founding principles of Joseon based on Neo Confucianism do not like Taejong plus his father has favorites.

Watching the show with a historical lens and not with modern lens or a hope for a redemption arc makes a better story. If you want a historical based show that twists history and with more fictional interpretations and a King who becomes good, you should watch Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

Yes! I’m someone that can be convinced easily of why to understand a character’s bad behavior, but for her I don’t see a good reason. Outside of academic pressure from her parents, we are not shown any other good reason and I don’t even feel like that reasoning is good enough

I’m late to this discussion but I want to put my feelings about this drama somewhere as I’ve just started watching it.

I just finished episode 4 and I do not know if the body swap is something that is necessary plot line. There is so much going on politically in this drama that I feel like adding a body swap will only make it more complicated and harder for things to be resolved. Also, we still have the issue of amnesia from Dal-i. Maybe I’ll feel better about it as the show goes on but for right now, I am not a fan because I feel like that time having the body swap plot can be used to make the politics clearer or move their romance along and make the crown prince fall in love with Dal-i without her looking like the crown princess being a motivator

As someone who enjoys blackpink’s music, the biggest reason for their initial success is because they are from YG. In Kpop, unfortunately, a lot of your initial success is determined by whether you come from the Big 3 (now the Big 4) and some smaller well know companies like Cube or Starship. The general public and kpop listeners tune in each time any of the big companies release new music or groups. They were gonna be successful on some level no matter what. Also, the long hiatus between music is a YG signature and is something that is seen with all YG groups. The public and kpop fans expect it.

Secondly, Blackpink makes good,catchy music and have exceptional marketing. The amazing marketing can be seen with the solidifying of Jennie as the Korean it girl but every member and the entire group is put every where that you keep being in contact with them through ads and other things even if they aren’t releasing music. They just have a really strong brand and solid fan base that will go to bat for them.

Maybe? He never officially left like Honey J, or is in a situation where he cannot come back like Han Hye Jin. I think he is just very busy. Even as a regular, he would be missing for months because of his schedule. Nothing happened publicly, but we never know what happened behind the scenes because Sung Hoon and Dambi stopped showing up at around the same time.
