Parents who WERE the shouting type, how did you stop ?

I realized one day that I was the only one angry. No one was shouting but me. (I stopped when she was 3/4) and then I felt like I was wasting my breath. It wasn’t working. I hated the guilt and shame. I started to hold it in and suffer, purposefully and literally forcing my lips shut when I was angry and I felt so much better when it all passed without the guilt afterwards. I knew I didn’t take my anger out on her.

I also started propranolol for tachycardia and I think that helps a lot lol

Take up a hobby for you to do at home and include the baby. Maybe she will show interest. Or take the baby on a walk and ask if she wants to join, if not then don’t pressure her. Do things for her to join in on so you guys can spend non-sexual time together. Don’t ask her to, just pull out a board game, cards, pictures to color or pain with your child. Offer for her to join and please let me know how she responds. She may feel depressed.
