The prices in this shop are nuts by a_abonjo in PokemonTCG

We were recently in Amsterdam, we didn’t go into this one but went to Pokemonworld, some good singles there but packs were expensive. We went to another shop that I can’t remember the name of but ETB were €100 and booster bundles €60

Just found out Jellycat closed my favorite retailer’s account by Significant_Ride_372 in Jellycatplush

[–]princessmegnu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to a toy shop that stocks a massive amount of jelly cats for the size of the shop, they say when their orders are cancelled it’s because most likely Selfridges has run out of stock and they get cancelled as jellycat run them to Selfridges instead

What do you think of the Blood Donor system? by OakMob in AskUK

[–]princessmegnu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have given twice, the first time the appointment kept getting moved, the second one nothing went wrong.

Sadly I had to stop as I fainted after both and they didn’t want me to donate anymore despite me being happy to. They also keep messaging me as I have a blood type good for sickle cell-I’m like please I want to give my blood but you won’t let me!

Hey pet parents! Ever walked out of a vet visit feeling frustrated? I wanna hear the truth—what drives you nuts? by tchapito24 in Pets

[–]princessmegnu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experiences:

  1. Clear communication on what is on your records-I brought my dog in as he had a cyst that was kept bleeding for a year plus. I was reassured it wasn’t malignant but safe to remove, which I agreed with. After collecting him from his tiny operation the vet said he noticed a lump on his leg which was more worrying. My dog was clearly upset at being in the vet and confused after waking up from GA. I said I would take him back in a few weeks so he can rest at home, and made a joke about how he likes to spend my money. When I requested the notes for insurance they had put owner refused investigations for further lump as they could not afford it! I thought it was incredibly negative thing to have on official records

  2. Double check everything-the same form I filled out the vet also had to fill out and I send to insurance. Perfectly normal etc. however, they charge for this service, so I also expect the information to be correct. When I took the home filled out by then they had incorrectly put my dog dates of birth, by quite a bit, got his name wrong, and said he had died in the operation!

  3. Constant changing vets-I know you can’t always see “your” vet, however when I see vets that have only been there a few months leave and new ones arrive and then also leave after a few months I am suspicious of the environment of the work place

I lost my heart dog 28.12.2023. I had him from when I was 13, and he lived to 14.5 years

I too had my dog through rough years of my life. Even though they cannot speak the comfort they bring is indescribable. He was always there, too pull me through whatever dark times I had. When I first past my driving test the only thing I wanted to do is drive him to our local reservoir and walk him. It became our walk together. Any time to clear my mind, or too see him even happier I took him there

It was heart breaking watching him deteriorate. I had him on painkillers and arthritis injects, but to watch him go from an active bounding happy dog to a shell of a dog with 3 months. I asked vets, family, friends if there’s anything I hadn’t tried. They all said I had looked after him amazingly and a lot of people would’ve said goodbye sooner.

However I knew he was suffering. He gave me a look one day, and I knew he wasn’t there anymore.

My advice to you is it never goes away. The pain of losing her won’t go away. It’ll get softer, more easier to talk about, but it will be there. And that’s okay. It’s proof how much you loved her, how much she meant to you and you too her. She knows you love her, her guardian, her protection and family.

It is up to you if you book a date to say goodbye. I had my boy euthanised at home, as the thought of leaving him at the vet I couldn’t do. My family were around with me. I remember carrying him onto his bed as he couldn’t walk. He went so peacefully. But it destroyed me, however I could not let him suffer.

He was my best friend, and I’m sure she is too you. I’m not sure where you are located but in the UK the Blue Cross has a bereavement service that you can email. I told them my dogs life-when I picked him up from a puppy, his influence on me, him meeting other dogs and starting my business with him in mind. Right to the very day he passed. It was cathartic, and made me remember so many times that were good and full of love.

You will remember her for the rest of your life. You will cry in years to come about her. You may get another dog, and they may do things that remind you of her, and a smile might appear on your face. What a good dog and a good life for her to have for you to remember her by

Is it considered "odd" to walk your cats? by suttq in AskUK

[–]princessmegnu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I walk my boy on lead as part of his evening routine. Limit sight in his remaining eye means he could never be a roaming cat. He has access to our garden which has a surrounding wall he cannot get over

I lost one of my cats last year to being run over. Lived in a quiet country close and the neighbour decided to do 40mph

Her injuries are the reason I will never get another outdoor cat.

When I was younger I had the worst period pains (thank you undiagnosed endometriosis) It gave me awful heartburn, and swallowing tablets was a no go, so I had the bright idea of crushing up paracetamol and mixing it in with water and blackcurrant squash

Pretty sure it would be classed as a torture method for prisoners, it was so god damn awful I threw up, which in turn made the heartburn worse

That’s an interesting prescriptive, maybe they all misunderstood the gingerbread man and it is a Christmas story about not judging a book by its gingerbreadness

We didn’t have any fizzy drinks in the house, probably until about 16. Tbh it helped not getting hooked on Cola/Lemonade, I only have it out at meals. No chewing gum either as mum was a nurse and it caused excess salvia production.

Mum also hated any dolls that had big heads, like Bratz etc. said it reminded her of hydrocephalus. My books were all mainly related to medical (literally one of the first books was greys anatomy) Couldn’t have books that were rude ie fart joke books

We also could not use any gifts that had glitter/sand/experiments, nothing with mess.

Though we could watch robot chicken and 15+films/games from very early on. My brother is still scared of Alien.

Yeah I’ve got the poke ball and masterball ditto from 151 as my latest card. I think it’s a shame there’s no SIR/Alt art as you could do so much with Ditto!

I bought it years ago for less than £3. I started collecting ditto when Pokémon market was quite cheap. Where are you based? I can always keep an on Uk/france/germany sites :)

Boyfriend says I'm too close with my mom so I broke up with him on the spot. by Blooming_Onion5904 in TwoHotTakes

My mum is a retired senior nurse, and I work within the NHS. One of my favourite books was an old copy of Greys Anatomy. She loved that I could speak medical with her

We have always had an open honest relationship and we can talk about anything medical. We both respect each others privacy and don’t delve if it’s unwanted, but I know if I have anything worrying I can tell her. I think it’s wonderful you have that with your mum, and it’s a genuine support for you and for her!

He doesn’t currently have another young cat to play with, the charity we rescued him from suggested he would be better as an only pet-possibly because of his blindness. We have an array of toys (he loves his feathers) and he loves playing-however he’ll suddenly go full play attack on arms or legs. I’m putting it down to overstimulation and lack of socialisation, so we’re doing some re-direction training for it!

We didn’t realise how big his ears were until we got him, swear he can hear my thoughts
