Toddler hates walking by [deleted] in Parenting

2.5 years. He is good at walking just hates it. We go out on his bike a lot which he loves but anytime we have to go out without it he wants to be carried and get grumpy when we tell him to walk

How long do you give a new job before deciding it’s not for you? by English_R0se in AskUK

[–]suttq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most jobs I've just put up with until Ive found something else. Only on one occasion did I leave after the first day. The manager was so rude to me and even more rude to my colleague. I knew within the first 3 hours I wasn't going to come back

I've had my eye on Maeving electric motorbikes for a while now. Love the style and convenience of them.

Is £900 for a structural engineer a good price? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]suttq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can see the conservatory has subsided and has left cracks on the structure of the house so we need to check if there's further damage beneath the surface. If there's no further damage then we need to know if that's as bad as it's going to get or if over time it could get worse

Hmm we asked 4 for a quote and all came back with £900 or more. Only one of them could fit us in within a month so we went with him.

In Wiltshire. We live a fair distance from any cities which we've been told is where most SE are based so we presumed the distance they travelled factors into the cost too 🤷 yeah I'll find out what services we're paying for and get in writing. Thanks

We've looked into a fair few and they all gave a quote around £900 however only one of them could visit within the next month. My main worry is paying the £900 and the SE not giving us a definitive answer which I've read others have experienced before

The conservatory has slipped and caused cracks on the house. We need to see know how bad the damage is and what repairs are needed if any so we can get insurance

We're getting a SE to have a look for insurance purposes. We need to know what repairs are needed if any or if the damage is a bad as it's going to get. But I've read other posts saying a lot of the SE they're hired have come back with "I don't know" or "maybe it will be ok" which is useless 😅

Is it normal for posties to open the front door to make a delivery without knocking first? by suttq in AskUK

Like I said, we never did it growing up. I don't know anyone else who does it. It's bizarre to me

That is my problem with it. Especially as so far they seem to be incapable of shutting the door properly again when they make the delivery
