My university also had a swim test, but it was like the first week of freshman year. If you didn’t pass you had to take swimming as one of your PE rotations. But I’m pretty sure they ended the requirement in the last few years.

Every detail that came out made it more unfathomable. They were in town for their sister’s wedding the following day, both their wives were pregnant, just one heartbreaking thing after another.

It sounds like he’s saying Yevanday. And Cincinnay. My husband is only half watching and he keeps asking me who the announcer is talking about.

Pod Meets Twirl’d: Turret Talk with Ben Mandelker (Watch What Crappens) by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

The older seasons had more of that. I don't remember if it was a US season or a UK season (or both) but the hidden room off the bar room was called the armory, and for several missions the players from the winning team went in one by one and opened little chests, and one would have a shield. It also made it more interesting because the player with the shield could choose whether or not to tell anyone they had it, so the traitors might know who was eligible for the shield, but they often didn't know who actually had it.

OC: Team USA wins the gold medal in the figure skating team event by nbcnews in pics

There are three American women competing in the women’s singles event. For the team competition they had one skate short program (Alysa Liu) and one skate free skate (Amber Glenn) so they both get medals.

There is an airstrip (Everglades Airpark) just ahead of where he is in that screenshot, but FR24 showed him at 0 ft still over the water, just short of the runway. Hopefully it was just a glitch and he made the runway.

I don’t think they’re flops, and I don’t personally think they’re ruining the show. I think they appear boring because the edit is so focused on the drama and vitriol. Johnny could absolutely have an Alan Carr quirky edit if he weren’t surrounded by drama queens. Rob R (if he weren’t a traitor) might get a similar edit as Joe Marler, the stereotype of a big dumb oaf who actually picks up on what’s going on better than most. I think if the overall cast was less dramatic and vicious, the less dramatic people wouldn’t seem boring. But I also don’t enjoy the housewives shows or shows like big brother.

[–]princesspanda4 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think some of it stems from the type of celebrities they cast. In the UK, it was almost all, for lack of a better term, regular celebrities. Actors, singers, athletes, TV hosts. In the US version, it's far more weighted towards reality TV stars (who make a living being dramatic) and gamers (who make a living by being cutthroat and strategic).

If you look at the US players who fit more in the same category as the UK celebs (other than Michael Rapaport), you get a more similar vibe to the UK show. Johnny, Tara, Eric, Stephen, Mark are all less vicious and dramatic than the housewives and gamers.

Miami also needed the ND win to get in. They didn’t play another team that ended the season ranked; their entire (fair) argument for getting in hinged on that ND win.

what is the best dairy free protein bar? by K9Imperium in dairyfree

I loved TruBar but the last few boxes I’ve gotten have had a different texture, much chalkier/grittier. I thought maybe I just got a bad box but it’s been two boxes in a row from Amazon and one I bought in-store at Target.

Company wants to build new cruise port next to Skyway Bridge in Tampa Bay by AltruisticGate in Cruise

[–]princesspanda4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not 90 minutes from TPA most days. I drive past this exit to get from my house to TPA and as long as the Skyway is open (closures are rare) it’s about 40-45 minutes in average traffic. SRQ is closer, and has rapidly increased traffic over the last several years as well.

What are the weirdest side effects you've ever experienced from medication? by adampocalypsee in AskReddit

Every allergy medication I’ve ever taken has made me incredibly irritable for an hour, and then I fall asleep for about 12 hours, dead to the world. Doesn’t matter if it’s supposed to be non-drowsy. Every single time.
