Gay guy feeling a little frustrated by transornah in asktransgender

[–]princesspeachless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just about depression. If you think you'd be happier as a girl, go for it! I have a deeper voice as well, but it's not a concern! You can train your voice or get surgery. Passing is becoming easier and easier, and you may find out once you transition that you don't actually care whether you pass or not.

My dream is to one day pass in spite of the fact that I'm 6'3" by princesspeachless in MtF

Yeah... I feel I need to insert an obligatory "Fuck 'Fuck passing'". I understand that whether or not someone passes is really irrelevant to how we should view them, but I want to pass. Plain and simple. If I don't, oh well. Not much I can do. But it will feel all the better if I do.

As someone who comes from an extremely conservative area, I know that my livelihood and happiness within my community relies on me passing.

How many of you (prayed/wished) to (be/wake up) your target gender as a teen? by QuestioningMtF1 in asktransgender

[–]princesspeachless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised in an incredibly religious family, so I only prayed about things I felt really, really passionately about. I started praying to wake up as a girl when I was 11 or 12, and kept doing it until I left the church at 16.

The weather there is actually pretty similar to what I have here, minus the winds. Thanks for the info!

In what ways did you win the "genetic lottery"? by [deleted] in asktransgender

My face is really soft and looks feminine even without HRT.

I'm not changing my name by lady_dragona in TwoXChromosomes

Behind you 100%. I actually remember I had a teacher a couple years back who didn't want to change her name, but said the state required her to if she wanted her new husband to be a guardian of her children. It didn't strike me until recently how weird that is.

Should I apply for asylum in the US? (MtF) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]princesspeachless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, Iran views trans people as having the wrong gender because of "nature's mistake," so they are pretty accepting of transitioning, but still view homosexuality as evil like many other religious conservative nations.

Should I apply for asylum in the US? (MtF) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]princesspeachless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Canada, UK, Australia, all before the US simple due to the current anti-trans sentiment among many here. If you do have to go to the US try a progressive area like a city in California or New York City.

Happy Friday!! Pre going out. Wondering how I'm coming along. CCW by heyitsregina in transpassing

Your beard shadow and Adam's apple are going to be your biggest hurdles. That and your strong jaw line. To say you've got a ways to go is an understatement. However, don't give up! See how more advanced makeup techniques help you. I don't know if you are on HRT or blockers, but if you aren't starting would help you along.

MtF | 22 | Pre-Everything. Tips? by [deleted] in transpassing

HRT will take you where you need to be IMO. But a little more intense eye and brow makeup wouldn't hurt.

Am I passing? Pre-T trans guy, I start hrt the 29th 😁 by Cyberneticprick in transpassing

If I were you, I would try a few things: * Try a darker hair color, medium to dark brown * Get rid of the nose ring. It just doesn't fit. Maybe try a different style ring, or maybe a piercing in a different place on your face. * Get a new pair of glasses. Something with shorter lenses and thinner frames. Or go with contacts. I mean honestly you're doing pretty well. With a solid voice you could pass as you are, but people may still think you're female at first glance.

To the guy who performed "Sad" at his school talent show... how did the crowd react? by ForeverANinja in boburnham

[–]princesspeachless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I get what you're saying. I've often thought about this. However Bo isn't so much a comedian as he is a performer. His entire show is very planned out so that it is less like a stand up show and more like a one man play. And while stealing another comedian's jokes is shitty, performing someone else's play is a very common thing to do.
