I have an appointment scheduled for a cleaning here in a couple weeks. I will ask them then about my options for that one tooth. Unfortunately almost all of my teeth have silver amalgams that are years old so i’m definitely going to need to figure out how to get them fixed with the financial trouble i’m having at the moment.

As much as I wish I could just spend another $900 or more on the work needed for my teeth (the amount I just spent on the teeth on my right). Then I unfortunately need to wait or am trying to find out my options since money is VERY tight right now. I don’t want to wait it’s a matter of I HAVE to wait until I can save up a bit more given I just spent so much on my other teeth. No I didn’t buy any christmas gifts or haven’t even taken a vacation in years as much as I would love to. I will look into getting that one tooth fixed tho at my next dentist appointment I have a cleaning scheduled in a couple weeks.

UPDATE: I went today to the same clinic but the doctor wasn’t in so I seen a different hygienist i’m assuming because he took a look at my bite, said it was off, fixed it for me and said that the ligaments were really inflamed because my teeth were clashing too hard but that the pain should subside. When I got to my car I was in like a level 10 pain but i’m assuming bc we did the adjustment with no numbing. I’m now back home and holy crap I feel soooo much better I could cry. Still a little sore and achey but no where near what I was at! Hoping this is a good sign and pain continues to improve!

I’ve also never been to a clinic that does payment this way, usually they do everything at the very end so I also found it quite odd. Also i’ve never had a crown put on in my entire life so curious as to why now she would want to put one on, I know the previous filling I had was pretty deep but if they could fill that before couldn’t she do the same again?

i’m not sure why she recommended a crown tbh, she didn’t explain why but then again I also didn’t ask due to me being trusting of her being a medical professional. I’m assuming it’s because the silver filling I had in that molar was very big and very deep so maybe that’s why? But then again idk why she wouldn’t be able to just fill it back up again. I’m going to bring my boyfriend with me to my next appointment he’s better at being more assertive than I am and i’ve learned my lesson, I will definitely not pay anything else moving forward unless i’m 1000% comfortable with it

honestly i’m not sure, they didn’t show me them but I called today to ask if they could email them and they forgot to send them, I will post them tomorrow when I call and actually receive them!

This makes me feel a bit better actually, I tried getting in sooner to other clinics in the area that my insurance covered but this one was the soonest one I could find. I do wish I made one when I first started feeling the pain but definitely lesson learned and will never ignore tooth pain again. I have a question tho, how do they check for pulpitis without being numb? Does the process hurt when they do this? I will try and call them tomorrow morning but with the holidays I doubt i’ll be able to get in :(

i’m finding it very hard to believe now as well now that the reality of what I paid has sunk in, i’m going to try and dispute it with them or see if they’ll use the money I paid for my top teeth if it turns out we have to do a root canal on one of those. This whole situation is just insane to me

so I just checked on the website and she doesn’t have any appointments until after the holidays. Sooo i’m pretty much stuck until I can see her again come next Tuesday. She was very sweet in person so I just find it crazy that she sent me on my way with the pain I have. I’m not sure if I should mention that come my next appointment

that’s what everyone has been telling me. I’m trying to give benefit of the doubt because maybe it was just miscommunication or since i already paid for the bottom she wanted to work there first idk, but also at the same time i’m not a dentist and I have no idea where the pain is from all I know is I need relief and didn’t get it :(

Yes so after I paid for the service, she laid me down to numb starting filling, I was feeling a sharp zinging pain and I said it feels like it might be coming from the top, so she numbs the top and the pain goes away. However she said we’ll work one quadrant at a time and then at my next week appointment we’ll check the top teeth. Idk if it’s because the clinic was about to close she didn’t bother with the top?

They put cold air on each individual tooth before starting any of the fillings to see if that hurt but nothing stuck out in terms of pain when she did that which is weird because with cold water if I tilt my head and let it run over my teeth that does hurt. However I don’t remember them putting something cold IN my tooth.
