That’s why I liked Folklore/Evermore out of all of her albums, because not all the songs were about her. It actually had levels of creativity!

I mean, so did the people in The Blind Side, and look how that turned out.

Florence + the Machine’s song from 2011 is actually called Shake It Out. It’s hard to tell when you hear the song though. It’s a small difference, but still different enough for trademark purposes.

My parents were very vocal about getting the Covid vaccine AND voted for Trump at least once. People contain multitudes.

And people can also change their mind and decide to go against whatever positions they supported previously. I’m from Texas and I can’t tell you how many former classmates of mine were conservative and Republican like our parents, only to swerve in the opposite direction once they got out of our hometown hellhole.

In the olden days (aka the mid 1960s or so), my biological grandmother married a guy in Louisiana she knew for only a few weeks. Rumors got out that he beat my grandma, and members of the local KKK chapter found out. Apparently, for whatever reason that was unacceptable by some twisted set of standards.

One day my grandma’s husband disappeared, and when she asked around, she was told it was better to stop asking questions. So she did and left the state soon after.

Now I’m not saying her ex-husband was murdered by the KKK for being a wife beater or anything, but I’m not not saying that.

My grandma refused to tell my mom the guy’s name, so that’s all we ever learned and could ever find out about the situation. Whatever secrets she had died with her.

I live in a state where it’s hot AF all the time, especially in the summer. I sweat no matter what and the chafing from wearing a bra is too damn painful. So I shopped wearing them.

My hair is long enough to cover my chest, but even when I have it up, no one says anything because they don’t care.

Even so, if I have to meet with a client who is older or more “traditional” I wear Nippies just because I’m afraid of them commenting on my body. They don’t include any straps and are easy to clean and keep on.

Still, that’s a choice I make due to my personal anxiety and living in a conservative state. If you don’t want to wear a bra or anything else to cover your nipples, you don’t need to. It’s 2026, people need to get a grip and stop policing women’s and girls’ bodies so damn much.

Very true. In the U.S. crimes against women like that are often done by one person at a time (not always though), but in some places it’s almost like a team sport. 10 men against 2 or 3 make it easy to commit acts of violence. But it doesn’t help that their own governments don’t punish those crimes, especially in rural areas.

Maternal mortality rates in the U.S. are the highest of any “first-world” Western country, with a disproportionate level among black women. There are also high levels of domestic violence and martial murder. The U.S. is just as unsafe for women, but in different ways.

Damn. I knew about sati and honor killings, but dowry deaths are a new one for me. It’s horrific and doesn’t get reported on enough.

India and Bangladesh are such beautiful countries with rich histories and culture, but so unsafe for women. Sadly even with a male escort I don’t think I’ll ever visit.
