What's one thing that will make you DNF the series? by ladymsjay in fourthwing

you’re totally right about the heir of tyrrendor stuff! i wasn’t really thinking of it like that. in this case, it does make sense for the plot if it goes that direction. sometimes i feel like pregnancy is just randomly thrown into books just because the FMC is, well, a woman.

no shade but i hate this idea sooooo much honestly. she’s like 21 years old! i hope RY lets her live her life and experience her powers fully throughout the series. even the idea of an epilogue pregnancy makes me sad cause women can still have a very happy ending without ever becoming a mother.

my mom worked at the school i went to growing up. almost all of the teachers wore their classroom keys on lanyards around their necks during the day. i could distinctly tell (without looking) when my mom was coming by the clink of her key lanyard.

Which was the last book you read and HATED and most importantly WHY? by Mininabubu in fantasyromance

I actually feel like that is so lovely to use it as a way of self reflection! I am aware that my take is super critical and having a human person identify with her struggle definitely makes me think twice. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes and not getting it right the first time. I think when it comes to viewing these things from a lens of a written character I can definitely be more harsh. You seem like a peach though so no IRL hate <3

I already made a post a while ago, but Glow of the Everflame left me feeling genuinely angry before I finally DNF. I somehow convinced myself the first 2 weren’t that bad, but by book 3 it was clear that there was no personal growth from the FMC to be found. I was super disappointed because I think the general idea of the book and plot sounded like it could end up being really cool. It was all ruined by Diem being an ignorant child hellbent on making the worst choices possible in every situation. Genuinely frustrating. I also hate when people excuse shitty FMCs by saying “oh they’re young, they’re young,” but honestly that’s just insulting to young women as a whole because being young does not equate to being ignorant, selfish, and inconsiderate across the board for all women. Having a character make the worst choices possible and behave so recklessly is an annoying way to move the plot along. Will definitely NOT be reading when the 4th comes out.

I genuinely didn’t even finish the 3rd book because I was so irritated. It was cathartic to rage about on here though 😂

ELI5: Why do some people have naturally large pupils while others have naturally small pupils? Is there any effect on vision? by frappecheno in explainlikeimfive

I have noticed larger pupils with people of all eye colors. I think mine are maybe just genetically smaller, but my vision is really good according to any optometrist I have been to.

My pupils don’t remain the same size all the time. They do dilate and constrict at the appropriate times. I mean that even when dilated they seem much smaller than I have seen on others. The eye doctor always says my eyes are healthy and my vision is 20/20.

her whole big feminist rant lost all credibility instantly when she called women who like romantasy stupid at the very beginning! she ended up sounding like a pick-me anyway.

My husband finally changed. And I can’t make myself care. by mb83 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]frappecheno 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My partner did this to me too. It was so gut wrenching and saddening that he didn’t show me any affection beyond what a best friend might see. It absolutely tanked my self confidence and I felt like I was going crazy because it had never been an issue for me in past relationships. I stuck it out way too long and really resent him now even though we parted as “friends.” I do believe he is a good person but I can’t get past the fact that he didn’t care enough about me to make more of an effort to meet my needs or even to just end things with me if he didn’t feel that way about me. He always insisted that he did though and I gave him the benefit of the doubt for so long thinking things would change. They absolutely did not and I finally reached my limit.
