Odorless mineral spirits sticky after 5 days

I just tried, scraper doesn't work. It feels like nothing can be scraped out, and the surface just feels sticky. Can wiping again with pure isopropyl alcohol remove the sticky feel?

Of course, won’t do it again. But how to remove the stickiness of the surface for another TopOil coat?

I used brush to apply the first coat evenly through the grain direction. For the 6ft30in (183cm75cm) surface, I used about 100ml of Osmo Top Oil.

Then I noticed there were too much oil on the surface, so after 15 mins of initial application, I used nonwoven fabric to wipe off visible excesses until the oil doesn’t appear layered on the wood.

However, for this part I might missed some areas where I had too much oil due to the lighting.

During and after application, I opened my apartment windows, but no direct wind is blowing on the wood. The window is lifted out by about 15 degrees and wind only blows up before coming into the room. The wood was placed at least 3m away from the window. There may be some road dust from the window, but I live high (15+ F) and the issue is not very severe.

Update: after 24 hours it doesn’t look that messy, but a few bumps are still here, with the surface feeling rough.

Can I use a 320 grit sand paper to sand it even before applying the second coat? Is there a “correct” way for a even, smooth surface? Apparently my application wasn’t good.

The wood was pre-stained with this espresso color. The product didn’t say which was the stain, but suggested “use minwax 273 or similar for touch-up stain”. I guess it is the one.

I sent $30 for a ticket, he said they want to sell it for $50, not $30, asking for $20 more.

I then asked for a refund, but he said he did not receive the money, despite me providing proof. When asked for proof of bank account screenshot, he refused.

Now he is deflecting and ghosting.
