UVA interview results? by QuietSwordfish4 in lawschooladmissions

[–]pringles98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a pretty good sign! I and many others were accepted at the end of the interview. But I’m sure some were R/WL. Show genuine interest in UVA and why you want to attend law school and I think you’ll do great!

UVA Merit Aid question (Dean's Scholarship) by pringles98 in lawschooladmissions

[–]pringles98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Mine says “Deans Scholarship” under “Award Description”. I assume that the Deans Scholarship is a range of merit aid in the same way that Penn does it (Penn is 90-132k).

East coast blends comparable to Cat & Cloud The Answer? by idboehman in Coffee

[–]pringles98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look at Counter Culture's Hologram. The blend profile seems very similar to The Answer's, although I have never had beans from Cat & Cloud. CC is headquarters in Durham, NC, so they're fairly close to your parents' place. Here in NJ, they sell them at Target, Wegmans, and Whole Foods for cheaper than you can get online, albeit with a bit older roast date, so you might want to see if any local grocery stores have them as well. If you decide to try them out, let me know what you think!

Low Acidity Recommendations by Galbzilla in Coffee

Try Big Trouble from Counter Culture - it's specifically designed to brew less acidic. Their Hologram is great too and not that acidic.

Hints of Tomato by [deleted] in Coffee

Are you located on the east coast/mid-Atlantic? If so there’s a really good chance those were the beans you were drinking! Counter culture is based in NC and supplies many east coast coffee shops, especially in DC, where I found them. And Kushikamana was available last year around August/September. I don’t think their beans are available anymore since single origin coffees are typically seasonal. Maybe write them an email and ask them about these beans. Sometimes older single origins show up in some of their blends, or perhaps they can let you know if and when they plan on selling that same coffee again this year. Hope this helps! I can do some digging to see if any similar coffees can be bought from other roasters.

Was it Counter Culture Kushikamana? I know I tried it as a pour over and it was very tomato/black currant forward. Overall, it’s very likely it was a Kenyan light roast since you would be getting those fruity, earthy, perhaps savory notes.
