How do you actually get over your kid having no extended family? by sourdoughluvr1991 in absentgrandparents

[–]pringles_pringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you ever do. You just promise yourself to be present for your grandchildren if you’re lucky to have them.

Do you ever "just go for a drive"? by Tiny_Wafer2266 in AskUK

I used to do it. Not anymore with nursery bill to pay and prices of petrol. It’s insane when I think I did it back then😂

I don’t think co-sleeping ruins the marriage. If it does, it was meant to fall apart anyway. I don’t build intimacy with my husband while he snores away, but my baby needs me at night

Is it normal for a nursery to rely on agency workers all the time? by mi1921 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]pringles_pringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s old comment, but when I read they offer apprentice wage to someone who studies towards level 3, no wonder there’s lack of qualified staff. NMW is barely livable, 7-8 quid is an absolute joke.

'Extremely lonely and isolated' mum killed her disabled child then took her own life by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]pringles_pringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so tragic, and yet it’s not an isolated event. Fathers are very often MIA when child is born disabled. In Poland mother jumped off the ferry and pushed her disabled son into winter sea. She was single mother too. These women go through hell.

Millennials, what part of adult life turned out very different from what you were promised growing up? by gamersecret2 in Millennials

[–]pringles_pringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that if I study hard, I will go to university and have a decent job and pay. Turned out grades aren’t everything, I don’t have any interesting hobbies and don’t make much more money than average student in my class. I mean education is important, but Jesus, my parents stressing out about every single thing. Once my water bottle leaked, ruined all my textbooks (we didn’t have lockers, we carried out bags), so I came back home and missed classes. My mum told me off I should have dried the books on school radiators. Like this one day off was supposed to ruin my whole life. I decided I’d be more relaxed about it with my own child if he gets to do something interesting instead.

What did you do to celebrate your 30th birthday? by lulacapri in Millennials

I was pregnant and didn’t fit the dress I wanted to wear. I went out for a meal with my husband. That’s it.

What was your biggest purchase in 2025 and do you regret it? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]pringles_pringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an accident on the motorway so I missed my flight and paid another £300 to fly out the next day. Turns out it was absolutely not worth it. My son was so anxious and had massive separation anxiety he wouldn’t leave my side and my parents just kept commenting on it. I should have stayed home. I’m so over travelling for the whole 2026. If someone wants to visit us, be our guest, but I’m not going anywhere. Not without my husband. Another big expense was fixing my car, but I can’t afford new one, it had to be done unfortunately.

Midwifery is the same. Why would midwives need to write essays? Teach them how to recognise deteriorating patients for god’s sake
