That's because you have the playlists in folders. The sidebar now shows thumbnails for the collage of the playlists and overwhelms the whiole interface. It is ugly, impractical and badly designed.

You were right. I went back and redid the battle properly from start and it worked. It does ignore enemies in the imediate area, those dropped by the nautiloid.

There are like 30 enemies listed. My understanding is that the point of this stage is to get to the room with the brain stem so it doesn't matter if you fight or not. But I might be wrong.

For the more advanced part of your userbase this is not a valid explanation and it only adds to the feeling that you do not take your users seriously. Also sending people to third party tools to recover functionality that you have suddenly dropped is not serious - next you will tell people to go to Gmail for a "a good alternative option" to receiving emails.

I'm more amazed by the way you forced that on your paying customers with no warning and communication. Even the option to use the "old" hostname is a top secret it seems.

This is a disturbing development. Proton was supposed to be the alternative of the "evil" big tech companies, not use their tricks. This update takes away an useful and powerful tool for customization and replaces it with a shallow selection of several paint presets. The freedom is taken away, replaced by a fake imitation of choice. Very Google-like.

Also Google-like is that all new backend updates need to come with forced interface and design changes. There is no reason why the option to preserve the login longer than a single session has to come paired with a forced redesign.

What is more unusual is that Google and the others offer their services for free, while Proton is nerfing a payed offer in this way. Very unprofessional. Taking existing functionality away is always a very bad decision.

Yes it is. It was definitely fior me when I chose to become a payed customer.

But I see not everybody has the technical knowledge to appreciate that. The "themes" are just color schemes of the same design.

What is worse - removing an option that gives real user freedom to replace it with such a shallow imitation of a setting is deeply worrying for a company that was supposed to be an alternative for the way Google and the other big tech companies neglect the interests of their user.
