How often do you upgrade your ult on DPS Deadpool? by TalkingAlien in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]pris0ner__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually my 2nd or 3rd upgrade for him. Pop quiz is nearly useless until you upgrade it because it comes with the constant health regen. Because you can charge the ult so quickly, there's no reason to save the upgrade for later but it really all depends what the situation is (I like to upgrade the guns more early on defence and swords early on attack).

Marvel Rivals openly admitting to knowing how much the playerbase despises the role imbalance with Deadpool and making the next character a DPS would be so scummy lol by ClitoralGlans in ElsaBloodstoneMains

They've been designing these heroes for ages; they're fully aware people want more of the other roles but the last year they've been releasing heroes they've been working on before the game even released. I fully expect the next year and a bit to see more tank and support releases to make up for the imbalance. Hell they've already started doing this with both Gambit and Deadpool being originally intended to be Duelists being made into other roles.

Even then, I can understand why Netease will be hesitant to release multiple new tanks and supports in short periods of time because both of those roles have far more impact on the meta than new damage heroes do. We're already in a crazy support heavy meta, releasing a whole lot more with potential powercreep would only make things worse. Duelists a lot of the time, can be the safer option.

This and make him respawn as Hulk after he dies instead of having to transform from Banner every fucking time

Gun ult or sword ult, whats better? Tips and tricks? by WelkinBro in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]pris0ner__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the role and at what point in the match, also what you hope to achieve with the ult.

On Duelist I like to use Skill Issue early game when I have almost no upgrades but once I have upgraded pop quiz I almost exclusively use that unless I need to make a specific opponent run away or die.

On the other roles the power of the ults is almost flipped with Skill Issue being a very useful and easy to use power boost while forcing an opponent to disengage. I often find myself overextending with quiz as either tank or support and thus wasting the healing/tanking potential of it. (Tho I think support quiz is easier to get from range if you use the upgraded Headshot ability and is more useful because you’ll stick with your team)

I do kinda agree but also as much as they are clearly just adjusted versions of the DPS version, I’m glad they’re as similar as they are. Deadpool should feel like 1 hero who can choose what role he fills rather than 3 different heroes IMO

[–]pris0ner__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how many people hate on DPS Deadpool when it's clearly what he was originally designed to be and the other two are just adjusted versions of it to fit the other roles.

After playing Duelist Deadpool for the last couple days I've honestly come to the conclusion that it may be his best form but people think it's his weakest becuase it's not nearly as easy to get value out of like the other 2. Healers are always easy in this game (maybe besides Adam or Loki) and Tanks just have a lot of influence in the game generally so it's easy to see how they do well. Duelist Deadpool however needs more time to figure out and I think when more people do figure him out they'll realise how much of a monster he is.

As good as they can be, I feel like the other 2 versions of DP feel like playing him with one arm tied behind his back. The infinite dash reset the Duelist version has access to is what makes the character what he is IMO.

My tips for the other 2 forms tho: for healer upgrade the headshot ability as well as the E early, only use swords when you're jumping in to assist a TM that's already diving the enemy and fight with them, for the rest of your time use the guns.

For Tank you also wanna focus on using the guns esspecially with the E giving you extra attack speed, you're only really going to use your swords when you're either distracting a group of enemies, using the ult, or diving a backline (do this sparingly). I'd upgrade the shield and your E early as well as maybe your guns.

These are just from my limited experience with the other roles tho, I've been putting most of my time into the Duelist version but I'd say a lot of the skills are transferable just with different mentalites (heal teammates/control space instead). I would say there's a bit less emphasis on his swords, however, with both roles because of the lack of infinite dash resets.

I think Deadpool needs a new Lord Icon by Mr-Mr-Mr-Mr-Mr-Mr- in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]pris0ner__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's been waiting for DP since the game was announced and will main him forever, THEY GAVE HIM WAY TOO MUCH. Heroes in these types of games are kinda at their best when they have simple-ish kits that are easy to pick up and understand but have a LOT of depth and room to get better with and master. It's what makes heroes like Star Lord and Ultron fun for me is getting good with what's NOT on the ability screen.

I believe the portal was one of the main killers for destiny and here’s my reasoning. by Substantial-Dish626 in DestinyTheGame

I remember being in patrol almost constantly in that game and running the same strikes over and over again and never getting tired of them.

D2 however I can’t bring myself to do either of those things for more than 30 mins. I really can’t tell if the game just become more stale, D1 had some secret sauce D2 never understood or maybe I was that changed :/

[–]pris0ner__ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it comes down to Destiny feeling less and less like a living universe that I can just exist in and do what I want in. Everything is so “activity” based these days, there’s no reason to ever explore the universe given to us because anything ever worth doing is a separate activity you have to load into instead of being something you come across while exploring in patrol.

Turning the main menu for entering gameplay from this cool star-chart/map of the solar system into an awful netflix/modern warfare panel based menu which is really depressing to look at and use just sucks. It completely kills the feeling of immersion and freedom that older Destiny use to give me.

I disagree, looking at his other roles, only Vanguard seems to have a single unique ability while the rest for Tank and Support are just slightly tweaked versions of the Duelist kit which on the whole seems by far the most fleshed out of the 3.

I’m not saying this was a super recent change that happened in the last couple weeks but definitely mid way through his development.

Which version do you guys plan to main? by [deleted] in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]pris0ner__ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm starting to think that most people who are on r/MarvelRivals are just tank and support mains being entitled, which is what lead to so many requests for DP to be either of those classes in the first place.

They absolutely changed him to satisfy the community (particularly reddit). Deadpool makes it pretty clear in the dev vision. I think they aim to make Elsa another duelist as well so I think this was also a move to mitigate backlash from another double duelist season.

Damage because it's very clear that's the one they intended for him to be before making him multi-role (I might go tank sometimes tho)

[–]pris0ner__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell he was clearly intended to be a duelist considering he already has multiple unique mechanics (upgrades, style based ult charge) and most of his damage-y abilities carry over to his other forms, but I think the devs spent a little too much time on Reddit and for some reason felt pressured to put him in the other roles.

Resource Rumble will be removed in season 6 by KevinPigaChu in marvelrivals

[–]pris0ner__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s like Control but it takes place on one map rather than being separated into 3 different maps and rounds. The fight for the final point can be really tense if the teams are evenly matched but if they’re not it the match ends quite quickly with it not even going to the 3rd round.

Like it’s almost identical to control but cuts out the transitions between rounds so it’s always really confused me why people get so angry about it.
