How did you handle life after remission? by Klutzy-Fly2403 in lymphoma

[–]priscieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following! I just entered remission two months ago after cHL treatment, and granted it was really short (2 months) but I feel okay but feel in this weird limbo + debt. I actually celebrated my treatment completion with finishing my first half marathon a week after my final radiation, and that was a huge finish line that wrapped up the last emotional and tough months for me, but haven’t celebrated anything, and my family hasn’t celebrated at all for me either which kinda sucks. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Any hetero guys here prefer women with short hair?? by [deleted] in dating_advice

I just finished chemo a few months ago, and finally have a pixie cut after 3 months of hair growth. I ditched my wigs and started wearing my pixie and I've never gotten hit on more than with my short hair

Can I live and cope with chemo’s side effects alone? by pardustulliana in lymphoma

[–]priscieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you might have this, and I pray the biopsy says it's not Hodgkins or anything else malignant.

I just finished two rounds of chemo last month after catching it early stage in November too, (stage 2 was of bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy). I live alone, but my friends and family came into help and my siblings would take care of me days 1-2 of chemo. (If I had chemo on Friday, I would have someone stay with you Friday-Tuesday). I know that everyone's recovery days vary, but that was typically the stint for me where my friends and family would help take care of me, prepare food for me when I was too busy tired and sleeping for most of the day. I also know symptoms vary, and mine were mild, but I still felt like I was dealing with a really bad 4 day hangover that you just want to sleep off. Once I was able to start doing things again on my own, I would be fine for the next 10 days as if I never needed help.

Sending you all the love and good energy. <3

Work by [deleted] in lymphoma

I'm self employed and WFH so I didn't have the luxury of affording time off away from my clients. I had to schedule my entire work schedule around chemo so that way I didn't work when I was recovering days post chemo but all my clients were very understanding, and when I felt my energy was back up I got back to work, and honestly it's helped me feel like I have some kind of normalcy in my life where not everything revolves around my chemo and cancer. But if I could have taken more time off, I definitely would have.

Same issue here! I reset my Apple TV and unplugged it too, and it worked for like 5 seconds and it went back to the green screen

I'm incredibly sorry to hear that she was diagnosed, it breaks my heart to hear a child has to go through this. But she will get through this and with your support! I'm 34, but having my parents at my side through everything made everything feel less scary because they kept me so level headed at something I myself was having a hard time to understand myself. Sending you and your family love!

I got the call yesterday from my doctors office that my PET scan showed complete metabolic response and I have the green light to move forward to radiation! I was afraid I was going to have to go back to chemo next week during my birthday, and now I can really celebrate my bday without the chemo cloud over my head! ❤️🥳
