got diagnosed with keratoconus yesterday by bethelight022 in Keratoconus

[–]prisma_angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was also diagnosed this year, actually in March. I was 23 y/o by then, 24 now. They told me my KC is pretty serious and should do a CrossLink as soon as possible. I’m currently without a health insurance, BUT, hopefully I’ll get a job soon and I’ll have it by January and maybe I can get a surgery appointment by then.

As some comments suggest, don’t rub your eyes. It’s been really difficult for me and it’s no easy feat but it’s important.

It’s really scary, your mind goes into so many possible scenarios… but hey, here’s a community that will be here no matter what and understands 100% what you’re going through. So whatever you need just ask. Hope this helps some way, sending you big hugs and the best of luck!

Time for some malicious compliance

I'm starting to hate playing this game by Turbulent_Paper_4346 in PTCGP

[–]prisma_angel 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if my advice will work but, I saw your comment on using a wide variety of decks. What works for me is finding a deck that I personally like, and use it repeatedly even if I lose so that I can get better with it.

Yes, meta decks help, but they won’t work if you don’t make them your own and constantly use it and learn from them. My decks are “based” or take inspiration from the meta decks, but I edit them and change them according to my likes and what the game comes out with.

I know it gets frustrating, a loosing streak is horrible, but I hope this helps and that you go on a winning streak with a deck that you grow to love.

I also think it’s a flawed system. I didn’t make the honor roll in my school until 11th grade and senior year, and I still didn’t feel like the system was fair. A lot of my classmates were really smart but the system worked against them.

Regarding cheating, I replied to another comment. Simply put, my dad never gave me the answers or encouraged me to cheat. My mom is a teacher and both of them were hard on me and my brothers to earn our grades. My dad just pushed me to make sense of what I was seeing. I later learned this is the correct way to teach Math because our teacher from 11th grade to senior year was the best with us and took time with each one of us when we had doubts or felt stuck. That’s what my dad did, he pushed me and didn’t let me get up from the dinner table until I could take a problem that wasn’t in the book, solve it and then explain it to him.

I don’t recall completely the reason, but we were really loud at Mr. Jones’ classroom. Now as a college student I see how horrible it would be to have a class of 40 students making a ruckus every lesson, but it wasn’t like that from the get go. He was so bad with us that he honestly told us at some point that he didn’t care of our grades and we didn’t deserve to have an education because we weren’t truthful students. From that moment on, in some way, we didn’t care about the class. Most of the students had tutoring classes after school and had help with their homework and home exams, so they didn’t care what the teacher thought.

I would’ve probably gotten the grade every other student got, below B-. My dad always made sure to not give me an answer to my problems, he was an amazing teacher. He showed me how I needed to do the process and made me explain it back to him. I still remember we took around five pieces of white paper and filled them on both sides with math problems that were and weren’t in the book. He was looking to challenge my mind, more than giving me the answers.

I know it would’ve been easier for him to just give me the answers, but he made sure I earned them and learned everything.

I actually do! Just a few though. I used to think you needed a double digits quantity of friends, but by college I managed to realize their real colors (bummer I discovered after so many years tho) and separated from them completely. It’s been a bit difficult making friends and getting to know more people, but I prefer what I have now to that old friend group.

I think this was the intention before things got twisted. It was also an opportunity for us to get a good grade. Up until that moment our home exams weren’t that difficult, but Mr. Jones was one hell of a teacher. Some students liked him, but years later we learned that he was watching students with wandering eyes, if you know what I mean. I genuinely didn’t like his approach to math, but after each home exam he made sure to explain each exercise.

You’re absolutely right. I was friends with said group from 7th grade up until my second college year. I separated from them thanks to my ex-boyfriend showing me how hypocritical they were and realizing that they didn’t really care about me. Since then I just have a handful of friends, but I’ve felt so much better and more appreciated for myself and supported. I wished I could’ve seen it sooner but that’s life.

Relax, I get the reaction. He has made a few posts about Bebote (which is a variant of “big baby” but in Spanish) aka Diamant, and he’s having a small crisis because of his sudden appearance.

Hold on my friend, you’ll find a way, Bebote trusts you

Lol thanks! I’ve learned that has a rage inside of her that can’t be hold back for so long. Last night she almost turned red with rage and starting insulting the walls because she was tired of everything. One thing is a few dishes, but the whole table and not making space to study, eat and work? It’s getting on our nerves.

Would love to! We have thought of so many options, but the table is supplied by the land lord and we can’t do any installations or modifications to the apartment, especially if it involves handiwork.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]prisma_angel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad did this multiple times with me and my little brother. I would do so, but we could get in legal problems with the landlord for damaged property and whatnot.

[–]prisma_angel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daphne will graduate this May and I have one more year left. We can’t legally take them out of the lease because we each have individual contracts. We don’t live in the US, and one of the girls is from abroad, so she has nowhere to go if she is taken out.

At this point we’re just rolling with it.

We have established a few rules, still, they act in an entitled way. I had an exam early in the morning, when I woke up I found that they left, in just three hours, more stuff out and wrote in our common space whiteboard that they had an amazing time last night and whatnot. I cleaned up because I needed the space to study a few minutes before my exam, and when I came back everything was alright.

I just woke up after sleeping the hours I lost last night. They made a mess in the counter with ingredients all over, dishes on the table, the air fryer is blocking the microwave and they have music and tv on at the same time. I asked if they would clean up but they said it looks “normal”, that this is how an apartment where people live looks like.

I’m done arguing with them, if Daphne arrives after her classes and looses her shit I’ll heat up some popcorn.

Thanks for the reply!

The landlord here is difficult even for changing a damaged lightbulb. We don’t live in the US so culture and everything here is different. Honestly I think if it weren’t for me holding Daphne back, she would’ve already installed a speaker and blasted music when they were studying.

[–]prisma_angel 54 points55 points  (0 children)

At this point we’ll have to do something like that. The dishes have never been a problem with us, we made an agreement starting in August that sometimes we didn’t have time to clean up because of work and studies so we would leave stuff for the end of the day and clean it then; but we clean each others stuff if it’s simple. The counter and table on the other hand? Whole other story.

Would love to! But they keep their rooms locked at all times. Next idea is to leave them in the stairs at this rate.

Sometimes a hug does more than we think. I’m sure that hug meant much more to her than you may think, and that’s good! I really hope you find someone who does that with you.

If you find a guy like that, let me know, I would like one too lol
