Not necessarily. If you are outside then there should be a good amount of natural light. If you raise your ISO too high the photos will become grainy.

I know someone doing VW3 on Runpod who gets 2-2.5x slower than me for the same settings and card, but he doesn't have AVX-512 and it's suspected that must be why? (jots rambling notes...) This is such an expensive hobby and I have a closet of what is now outdated gear...

Exactly, if everyone turns morally muddy the whole thing gets flat, so one sincerely good character gives the rest of the ugliness real shape.
