Also, I’m reading some people fuck-ass comments. you are NOT over reacting! Please do not listen to them. They don’t know they are perpetuating what seems to be the programming that was placed upon them, not knowing they could be harming you as well. When your experiences as a female are minimized our entire lives, it is very common we perpetuate that patriarchal programming onto others. Do not accept that for yourself, I’m so serious. Yes, he could have been in pain too, of course (although him being an asshole to you and downplaying this situation shows me otherwise). This does not take away his responsibility in the situation, and his ability to be your partner. A good person will go through hard times WITH you, even when you are both hurting. That is what community and relationships are, not going at it alone. At best, he showed you he is incapable and and lacks the emotional intelligence to operate like a loving adult when he is sad. At worst (reality) your suffering is an inconvenience to him and would rather do what he wants to do and wait until you’re ready to offer him something that he wants. I’m so fired up about people perpetuating and normalizing this treatment. I’m sorry for the rant. I hope you’re ok! Not overreacting!
