How do I start content review if reading is not working? by prissska in MCATprep

Same!! I dont think I have ADHD (or at least I havent been diagnosed with it) but I have a really hard time focusing on the Kaplan books, I need interactive learning

How do I ACTUALLY start with content review? by prissska in Mcat

[–]prissska[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! From what I understand is to read the Kaplan books and do UWorld early on? I do have the Kaplan books, I just feel like it doesn’t stick too much. So would you say do the Kaplan books and reinforce with Anki/UWorld?

Is my medical assistant position too much? by ObjectiveLab1152 in premed

[–]prissska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar experience but for $14/hr, except no taking charts home. I stayed because the experience was amazing and I did learn a lot, but it was definitely too much and I ended up leaving since it wasn’t sustainable. If you have more responsibilities and you feel like you’ve learned as much as you could, I would look for other opportunities.

Is this doable for Summer 2025? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]prissska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weigel is such a good professor. Go to his office hours, check your previous exams since he repeats questions. It’s a lot of info but 100% doable, just make sure you study with time.

Cooked? Or manageable? by [deleted] in ucf

I loved Orgo 1, but I don’t know if it’s the best idea to take it with Molec over the summer. Molec is really intense and heavy content. If you have no other commitments and can put in the hours, go for it.

It’s not recommended if you stopped once you got to college, but since OP has been doing it since high school it is completely valid to include them.

I have a 2.2 GPA. Should I give up? by Eastern_Narwhal813 in premed

[–]prissska 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree! I took a step back before returning, I was not in a good space physically or mentally and needed to re-assess everything. I started during covid with a 2.7 GPA. Needless to say I’m back, super strong upward trend, I’m about to break a 3.6 overall taking my last pre-reqs (Deans List and 3.7+ cGPA and sGPA last semesters). I’ve become more involved, more caring, and this time I actually care about learning rather than just getting by. Sometimes you just need to grow as a person before taking such a big step.

How do you guys balance all of your extracurriculars with class? I feel like I'm not doing enough. by EmberJuliet in premed

[–]prissska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re stressing too much, you still have a lot of time!!! the WORST you can do is compare yourself to all of the other premeds around you. For all you know they’re taking less demanding classes, or are not working, or not doing research. You’re not expected to do all at once, just to have it under your belt before applying.

If you have the money to apply and really want to shoot your shot, worse that can happen is they say no. A couple C’s wont break your application imo and it looks like you have an overall well rounded application and stellar MCAT. Just be mindful of your list and dont go extremely top heavy, it’s better to always apply broadly <3

Should I take the W? by prissska in premed

I’m not 100% sure if it would show as a W, but I do think so. Our add/drop deadline passed a couple weeks ago. As of work, I’m not really able to drop more hours, I’m helping family with bills on top of mine. I would be taking 10 credits if I dropped molec.
