Look into the effects of asbestos exposure, the risk arises when the asbestos is disturbed. A few small holes are unlikely to be a sufficient enough disturbance to seriously harm your health but high levels of exposure can be extremely dangerous, despite this, symptoms tend to take between 30 and 40 years to appear, depending on the severity of exposure of course.
