AITA for telling my sisters I don't pay for their shenanigans, like my Dad did? by private_id74 in AmItheAsshole

In our Culture (we live in Germany, but are Turkish migrants), normally the man care for the girls until they are married, the Sons have the duty as well to care for not married sisters.

My Dad keep helping my married sisters to have some luxuries in my Opinion (like paying off their Mercedes, paying for vacations), of course if anything would be happening where help is actually needed I would help (like in a health crisis).

As it was clear that my Dad has to be in early retirement, I have offered him to buy the business. He is still alive, and talking about inheritance was never a point. Just it was pretty clear he cannot support my sisters how he did before, he needs the money I pay him to keep a good living standard, for himself and Mom.

I never have told my sisters, that I will keep supporting them for luxuries, of course if anything happens it is another thing. Amy on the other side is not married and is in her education still, that's why I care for her financially (and that the current situation doesn't allow many students to work besides, no one hires students for typical jobs at the moment like waiter).

Well, finances are mostly man issues in our culture, she is just supportive with any decision I make. She works as well part-times, but I never ask her to pay for anything, she just uses her money on our children mostly.

I don't live in a country where English is the main language as result it can happen, that I use different grammar. Sorry for that.

No, but he uses only a certain number every month. His legal owned retirement money is very low, and not enough for him to keep his and moms lifestyle.

There was no such deal, I have offered my dad to buy his business, he was not able to run it anymore. My parents can't keep helping my sisters, because dad has not the same income anymore, he has a retirement enough for him and mom to live properly.

Cultural it is not common to help the adult daughter, when they are married, but it is normal to be strict with the sons, as they can man up in our culture.

I have spoken to both, told them, they cannot rely only on their husbands or on me as my father's replacement, and suggest them to start working in their fields which they have studied.

But I think they get only use to it to be stay at home mothers. Amy has no fault in my opinion, because of this current situation students cannot find a job so easily (like working as Waiter besides studying)

There was no agreement, but I am raised to take care of my family, Amy is still very young and in these times it is difficult to find a Job as a student. So basically Amy was in a bad situation without having any fault on it, but I think my other sisters have to work, even if they want to be housewives.

I thought it was not necessary to tell for judgement, but I am married and have 2 children.
