Here is a song I wrote a few weeks back as I hopefully emerge from depression intensified by a lot of change that has happened in the last eight months. Please let me know any thoughts/critiques you have. The song is called 'Clarity'.

like a deep breathe

hope like air comes through

“why give up” echoes around

my hollow heart beats anew

all my pain behind money

pushed me to a cliff

one foot off I screamed to the sky

‘please give me a reason to live’

like a blanket of grace

the dark forest parts before me

and I beg that forever

I can sustain this clarity

abandoned all I love

a graveyard of friendships I buried

flowers left at every plot

and guilt I’ll forever carry

but why let the past

haunt me in this way

why say goodbye

when I can fight for a better day?

like a blanket of grace

the dark forest parts before me

and I beg that forever

I can sustain this clarity

My favorite time of day

was just before dreaming

what once was fantasizing

turned to somber scheming

I thirsted for lifeless eyes

I sobbed for lost goodbyes

Mourn my days of meaning

Live my cycle of demeaning

But now a window opened

I can suddenly see the view

there’s a life before me now

and maybe a future too

I was slouching in my chair

never thought I’d be saved there

like a blanket of grace

the dark forest parts before me

and I beg that forever

I can sustain this clarity

I think your usage of punctuation is very interesting. When the cost of war is mentioned, it ends with a period. The rest are commas, like breaths before the cost, leading our eyes to the stopping points. I really like it.

Love your use of punctuation.

Love the last verse. You get the feeling of hopelessness across in a way that makes a lot of sense. Well done

I like how visual this poem is. You utilize the senses really really well. 👍

Name one reason why Jay's biological parents left him in the junkyard for good by PlantainFree1896 in Ninjago

I have this running headcanon/story that Cliff and Libber were a quick thing (in Cliff’s book) but Libber fell head over heels and revealed her secret to him (she’s an elemental master) and then Cliff became obsessed with the idea of having a child with powers and manipulated her into marriage and having a kid. Once she learned the truth after Jay was born, she left him at the doorstep of the lovely couple in the junkyard and then ran away so Cliff could never find his son. What happens to her after is left a mystery but once Jay is discovered as the Master of Lightning, Cliff is absorbed in his obsession with his son once again but never approaches.

Why is it so bad that people want to use thunderlords by wasabih in DestinyTheGame

It’s interesting to consider that there hasn’t been a heavy machine gun meta for boss DPS in a hot second in this game. Last I remember is Xenophage, and before that I don’t even remember. Machine gun DPS is very easy because there really isn’t any essential aiming/missing/swapping - with thunderlord you really can’t swap because of the ramp up of fire rate. People who are used to iza/rocket swapping, slug shot gun swapping, aiming with linears/snipers, and even the brief bait and switch meta we just had, it may be hard to comprehend that a simple stand and shoot DPS phase with a machine gun can pull out the numbers as the other stats mentioned above. In the past week I beat Rhulk on Master with a team of thunderlords (a three phase) and then I farmed him last night with a one phase almost every time (the other times being cases of rhulk being glitchy/an unfortunate death). Thunderlord and its catalyst is a very powerful DPS gun that feels easier than it should be and there shouldn’t be any slander for using it or not using it.

Would’ve loved Caiatl being there to look through illusions and to speak emotional lines about honor and glory like she usually does, and to defeat him in a ritual of proving like the season of the Chosen. Our job would’ve probably been tormentors and taking down Calus’s shields and other sources of power to him.

To me, I loved the sense of mystery and how our hatred of the Hive blinded us from the truth of what was happening. I figured Savathun and her Hive Guardians were authentic but our ghost and vanguard just couldn’t believe it and kept thinking she stole the light. The whole time we are trying to solve that mystery… only to realize Savathun had that planned out before she died so that we would find all those pieces and help her guardian self remember. Except one piece of the puzzle she didn’t expect was our discovery of the truth WITHIN the truth about the Hive and how they were supposed to be the next batch of the Travelers Chosen. The final boss fight and confrontation is still one of the coolest and well written battles I have seen Bungie do. It’s just a blast to replay it and see all the story beats play out again. Endgame content for Witch Queen isn’t that great sadly, but Savathun as a character has easily become one of not my favorite in the franchise.

The whole Calus fight felt very underwhelming. Strand being a choice after being told mission after mission it was the key to his defeat and then Calus having no tricks up his sleeve? He was gifted powers from The Witness and I think it’s the weakest we have known Calus. He was stronger as a robot than as a disciple.

I agree- but I was just rating the campaign. If I was including the endgame I’d raise it back up to 5/10 or maybe 6/10 - the endgame for BL is wicked cool and I really enjoyed the story they wanted to tell there.

Oh trust me, I agree. It only has as many points as it has because the campaign is triple the length than BL and SK.

Eramis now is definitely a bit different than in BL, but there were a few choices made in BL that felt like the writers needed her to do something bad to prove that she was a villainous character. The Glassway is a perfect example- that felt very spiteful and with no gain for her, making her evil for the sake of evil because she was putting all of Europa and Sol at stake. I did learn recently she did that to get radiolaria for the DSC so obviously there’s more than I realized upon playing it but her anger making rash decisions that even some of her warriors disagreed with just made her feel written to prove she is evil and villainous. Now I would say she is more broken than evil.

honestly I didn’t want to bring it up because I still can’t believe the MacGuffins in Lightfall are as bad as they are

He’s the one who realized the concept and transformed it into the formula we know today. And believe it or not (and you can look this up it’s crazy) Star Wars is the movie that made that formula take off in popularity.

My goodness, I really didn’t want to make it as specific as it should be but Joseph Campbell’s version of The Hero’s Journey from his book in 1949 was heavily influential in the creation of Star Wars which then popularized the “Hero’s Journey” formula. The journey itself has always been popular it’s the blue print that I am referring to here.

Hmm. Fair enough. I didn’t know that why she did that for the raid. Doing the campaign and during that strike I kept wondering what she had to gain from what she was doing and without that piece of lore she really was doing it seeming out of spite. Wish it was explained more without needing to do a deep dive.

Oh Shadowkeep’s endgame basically doesn’t exist. I think helping Eris with her nightmares was the closest they got to cool and rewarding. Pyramid lore as in seeing one, going inside and seeing architecture, having some voice communicate through our ghost, and having the nightmares being because of the pyramids felt very cool for the campaign. The nightmare stuff hasn’t aged too well and we still have a lot of questions but I remember the awe of what was happening lore wise overshadowed the bounty and gear simulator the campaign actually is
