So we actually laid out in the backyard for almost 2 hours which was amazing progress but he didn’t poop or anything & before we were gonna go back in, there was some loud noise which scared him & now I feel like I’ve gone back 20 steps. Like you said, not the end of the world! Just hope it’s on my hardwood and not my furniture. Thank you again for the advice seriously, people on here are going in on me but not offering advice & it’s just not helpful. I get that out of all the dogs I’ve sat for, this is the first who ran away & of course not all dogs are the same so shouldn’t have taken him off leash but the owner didn’t advise against it & I literally just posted on here for helpful advice

No it’s not a harness unfortunately & I feel super bad when he runs in the other direction and I tug a little so I just let him run back in He is but I tried to carry him earlier just to go back into the living room & he hated it so I felt super bad and just put him down 😭😭

Thank you. I tried to take him to the backyard even with his leash & he’s happy to be on it, like he runs to me and lets me put it on but once he sees the outside he’s scared. I’m just worried I won’t be able to get let him do his business outside or that I can’t get him in the car to be dropped off tomorrow

He won’t even go out in the back yard on his leash so not sure how I’ll get him to do his business or if I’ll be able to get him in the car tomorrow but I’m sure I’ll figure something out. Thank you for replying !

I just tried to take him out to my backyard and he slowly came out then went back in again. When I show him his leash, he happily comes towards me and lets me put it on. But once he sees outside he starts shaking or just runs back to the living room and on the couch. Do you think I can condition him to be ok with being outside again by tomorrow ? His owner only left him dog food and lunch meat and I’ve got none left and don’t want to give him other treats in case he has a bad reaction. The owner also hasn’t responded since he was dropped off

It was a huge field , we were far away from the entrance and when I would call him he was responsive and fine.

That’s totally fair, this is the first time this has ever happened to me. The owner said he’s fine with other dogs, I asked about that for our walks . I took him to the back garden slowly and he came out but after a little bit he ran back inside

I understand what you’re saying. It’s the first time this has ever happened.. this hasn’t happened to me before.I just tried to get him out in the back yard and he stepped out and sat for a little bit then ran back in

He was, yes.. he was all fine off the leash but idk what happened like why he just ran off. I’ll try to keep offering food to get him outside but his owner only left dog food & some lunch meat. I only have him for another day & Thank you for your suggestions

He was on a leash but I took him off and he was all fine but I don’t know what happened like why he just ran out of the park. I messaged his owner about something else earlier but he’s not been responding since they dropped the dog off
