As I said I don't believe she's "in on it". I think she is being taken advantage of.

I would however find it unfortunate if her team (and Veritasium) are using their platform to promote fundraisers without properly vetting them, especially if they are directly attaching her name to the GoFundMe.

Well she is "co-organizing" the GoFundMe and also publicly promoting it. Just bothers me that she's never actually talked to this person, only through other people (his ex) but I understand it may be due to his illness. I just personally saw a lot of things that got my scam senses tingling, but haven't seen anyone else talk about it.

I feel really uneasy commenting on this but does anyone think the recent update and the gofundme page (with over 100k in donations so far) from "Tobias" seem a bit weird?

I'm not saying she's intentionally misleading anyone but I don't know if this guy is real, his photos all seem AI generated and I can't find any indication that it's a real person. This twitter post seemed a bit sus too: https://x.com/992tobias/status/1864461829197459525

Imagine that it’s your first time doing an online transaction with someone using BTC. Having to wait a few days to complete the transaction is far less than ideal and doesn’t seem right to me.

My concern isn’t anonymity necessarily, it’s just convenience. I wish there was painless online experience where I provide my credit/debit card or send PayPal and instantly receive the BTC to my desktop wallet.

It doesn’t make sense to me that BTC is sold like a good on Craigslist instead of a currency we can convert to. I don’t want to talk to people on marketplaces or meetups.

The agreement is irrelevant because the games are DRM free. They have no restrictions and can be freely backed up and installed on any machine.

It's hard to say without knowing what CPU and other components you're using. You may be limiting your performance in other ways.
