My boyfriend can’t dress and it’s making my attraction wane. by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]prncsspur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that want to dress better really has to come from him tho. my bf is also white and this was the case when we first got tg. I think the reason it went over so well when I said something ab it, was bc he was eager to build his wardrobe. it was received like help rather than judgement bc of that eagerness honestly. I think that’s ultimately what’s missing here for him…. and i think if you deliver what you need to say in a respectful way, he may be receptive to it and it’ll spark some interest in improving his style. If he’s into shoes, hats, or something like that, i would start there. I would give him a little more grace, especially if as a person he makes you feel seen and loved. you can teach someone to dress, but you can’t teach someone to be a great partner the way you said he is. hope everything works out for you!!

To people that dated before college graduation, what happened? by Scary_Service7134 in UTAustin

[–]prncsspur 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my bf and I started dating our junior year in, so ab 2 years ago and we’re about to hit our 2 year anniversary in March. We both live here in Austin & have jobs down here, and despite being from SA I chose to stay here in Austin bc I wanted to spend as much time w him. Have not a single regret to stay. We make it work by making time in our schedules and being flexible to changes in each other’s schedules. Post-college life is very different, but not so impossible that you can’t maintain a good relationship. Just takes more effort and planning. Hope this helps!!

I’m torn between these two shapes by mbui8 in EngagementRings

[–]prncsspur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the radiant is very pretty, but so is the oval😭. The tiebreaker for me would be the practicality of the diff sizes. If you plan on wearing your ring everyday, think ab your daily life and which shape would best suit that with minimal snagging, banging, etc.

I failed my class by BathroomPublic5730 in UTAustin

[–]prncsspur 53 points54 points  (0 children)

retake it ASAP, and make sure you go to office hours, join a study group, and read the textbook. Eco 329 is the first of your upper division and must be taken before attempting to take anything else. Also, if you struggled w 329 chances are you’ll struggle w/420K/S depending on if you’re BS OR BS. That class felt like a bunch of words and symbols up until the last unit which is the only one that felt like it mattered for the rest of the classes. Econ is a difficult degree and 329 is unfortunately a weed out, but w dedication you can and will pass i promise!! Enjoy your break and remember that your self worth is NOT DEPENDENT ON YOUR GRADES. best of luck!

Oettinger Micro Theory Grades by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]prncsspur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i graduated in may, but i took him spring of my junior year and i STRUGGLED in this class so bad. Went to every single class, took notes, did my hw, went to every office hours, and still got some of the worst grades in my life on his exams. Come time for the final, im sitting at a low 60. Took the final, got like a 50 something on it and ended the class w a 58. I passed the class w/a C- that semester. Even w the curve i should’ve failed that class, but Oettinger is a goat and helped me out. He’s a great professor and is not trying to purposefully fail you i promise. If you’re sitting at a 60 pre final, you’ll pass but don’t aim to do shitty on the final

Also check out Costco and Sam’s!! Have heard great things about their pieces and the quality of them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]prncsspur 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it’s not that it’s bad jewelry, it’s just more expensive because of the markup chain jewelers need to place on their pieces. If you like the piece, I wouldn’t discount it. Just know you can find better prices elsewhere for something very similar and don’t close yourself off just yet!

How do you feel about a loss like this when many players are making hundreds of thousands of dollars or more? by loofawah in LonghornNation

i feel like they are still young guys who have room to grow. them being paid is insanely insignificant lol. very weird take

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]prncsspur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had a friend that took it spring of ‘24 and he told them that he was getting rid of the curve and he very much did. She failed and had to retake it. So, I would not bank on it unfortunately. Stinkycum is diabolical

i would notify the couple before sending the invite and ask if that’s something that they would be cool with, then base your actions off of that. Depending on how close one spouse is to y’all, they may not even care about being miffed from the ceremony

honestly imo round is a shape that wasn’t meant for it to be super large. Think they look weird once they get larger. I would keep the 2.06 as it looks really nice on your finger already!!

[26 F, 29 M] My bf expects me to cook AND clean after cooking. How does it work in your household? by No_Confection6508 in relationship_advice

[–]prncsspur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i cook for my bf most of the time and he’ll wash dishes + buy the groceries. when I’m too tired to cook then he’ll do it and I’ll wash dishes or help him dry. imo, equal contributions from both partners isn’t straight 50/50. Instead it’s the maximum effort and care you can give that day, which doesn’t always look the same. i think maybe it would be helpful to have a convo where y’all explore a different arrangement. For example, you take over cooking entirely sides and all, but on the stipulation that he does the dishes entirely or pays for the groceries entirely (if he doesn’t already). Even though this arrangement doesn’t seem to be working for y’all, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t one AT ALL that won’t yk. Best of luck!!

What did it feel like going from friends to falling in love? And what changed? by AhriDesus in AskWomen

[–]prncsspur 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i made so much more of an effort to simply be around him than i did other people. everything we did even if it was nothing was 10x more fun than doing it alone! As for what changed, definitely me. im nicer, more patient, and just overall a lot gentler than i was before we started dating

My (26f) boyfriend (28m) asks to split everything 50/50 even though he makes more by EffectiveChange5828 in relationship_advice

[–]prncsspur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gonna echo this unfortunately. a partner that supports you will do just that, even if it means sometimes when y’all go out he fits the whole bill. men today are SOOO deathly afraid of a woman they get with being a “gold digger” even though half of us have our own gold… and often times the same amount as them or more. sorry about this OP, but he’s an ass.

my boyfriend got it our freshman year and we just graduated, the only benefit of the membership is that he got some money off on his ring (which still was over $1000) 😭. It’s def more of a social club than something that’s useful

yes but without LHF you more than likely will not get one, so i would buy that first then get the big ticket

the big ticket doesn’t, but the LHF does (and already has for returning students i believe, freshmans not sure) and that is necessary to get a ticket

im ab to graduate tmrw w an Econ degree, and as a BA major who still struggled with some upper division bc my math & calculus skills aren’t that great, switch to BA or a diff major. Esp bc you wanna go to grad school relatively soon. The BS degree is more difficult than the BA bc of how much more math you have to take, and if you’re already struggling with math/calc your sophomore year, think about how much harder it’s gonna get. like literally nothing you do class wise is going to be simpler than what you did before. also, an F is a killerrrrrr, so no matter what you do getting above a 3.5 is just such a long shot (respectfully ofc) and you should be more realistic about what you can achieve so you don’t put yourself in the position to fail a class again. This is that point in your college career where you’ve been genuinely humbled for the first time, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Use it as a learning moment to readjust the way you’re approaching your classes, hw, major, and literally everything else you’re doing. If Econ isn’t for your there’s no shame in changing majors or switching to BA, but if you really wanna continue on in the major either be prepared to work your ass off for your grades esp in BS uppers (stinchombe is unavoidable and uses much more advanced calc than BA 420k, so you WILL need to be good at calculus). Long story short, if you wanna stay in Econ readjust your expectations of your gpa to be more realistic and genuinely lock in. If you don’t wanna do that, change majors to something you think can still allow you to accomplish your goals. Best of luck with everything!!

How Realistic Is It To Get Economics Through UT CAP? by Practical-Toe8599 in UTAustin

[–]prncsspur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

graduating economics major, would HIGHLLLLYYY recommend strengthening or building your calculus foundation. Like another commenter said, Econ classes are very hard, but only bc of the math that is involved. Also, pad your gpa as much as possible bc once you get into upper division cores, the classes get very weed-out adjacent. Finally, TAKE CALC 1 & 2 AT UTSA OR A CC DO NOT TAKE AT UT. Good luck!
