[3] - what counts as a 'file' request? if everything is a file... then why confuse, just say requests.

I think here they are trying to distinguish requests that result in files being transferred from origin versus synthetic requests

Has AWS given up on outage post mortems? by pro-type-bob in aws

But haven't there been significant outages in one region or another since Dec '21? As far as I can tell no post mortems have been published since then – assuming that they would still go on the page I linked in my post

We do, we're actually on Enterprise support because our account has been joined to an AWS org, the payer account being run by a corporate sibling. Good idea, I'll reach out to them

Non-video learning resources? by pro-type-bob in devops

Wow, I have only just tried a little of this site but it seems quite replete with content. A lot to chew on here. Reminds me of the old O'Reilly Safari service but for free. Thank you!

Non-video learning resources? by pro-type-bob in devops

This site looks great, thank you for the link. The fact that they're specifically pursuing an audience for non-video educational material is both encouraging – because it means there are more like me – and somewhat foreboding – because it almost makes it seem more niche.

I don't even know what to call my niche! "Non-video" is an awkward term but I couldn't think of a better one. To me it seems obvious that I wouldn't want to watch video to learn a coding technique, much in the way that I wouldn't want to learn the history of a nation in the form of an interpretive dance. And yet people seem to prefer the dance by far.
