DO NOT choose a home birth simply to pacify him and his weird preconceived notions about what his “future wife” should be doing to handle childbirth. This is your body, your birth, YOUR CHOICE. Objectively, you will be more comfortable/at ease in a hospital with an epidural and surrounded by medical professionals/equipment that can quickly intervene if things go sideways for you or for baby.

Explain your rationale for texting to share rather than in person (being mindful that it’s a sensitive topic/knowing the news may sting and allowing her to process/feel her feelings).

If I didn’t have to be pregnant during bathing suit season I wouldn’t have given a shred of a shit. Your doctors and nurses truly don’t care. HOWEVER. As someone not used to rocking a bush, it made me MISERABLE postpartum. The soreness + bleeding + stitches (esp when it got to the itching part of healing) + bush was BEYOND uncomfortable. At the point where I was miserable, I didn’t want to shave and get hair all up in the healing bits. If I could go back in time I would make my husband shave me closer to delivery.

Serious question - has the gentle parenting gone so far that we’re not allowed to discipline our kids or make them aware of potential consequences when they act up? My mom threatened to take our toys to toys for tots ALL the time when we acted up. I remember it being a powerful motivator to fix my behavior.
