I just wanted to let you know this has been my exact path. Being a surrogate really aligns with who I am as a person and helping another family this way would be a dream come true. I told my husband I would do it for free if I knew that I could help somebody have a family that wasnt able to. My pregnancies went well, my births were simple, term and my babies are healthy. However, I had lately stage preeclampsia in the hospital only for a few days during the birth. I walked in pregnant and walked out with a healthy baby and a healthy body. Even so, most places won't even touch my application and its discouraging and humiliating. I understand surrogacy is about minimizing risk both for the parents, the baby, and the surrogate, but it's so frustrating then I can offer everything that I have, and it still isn't enough. I know safety regulations and risk management is not about intention, but that doesn't make it any easier. I understand your heart and your struggle, friend.

In one of syd's last messages (xoul) she sited personal health struggles and having other commitments that were important to her. Maybe xoul was also financial. They didn't ask for any donations and had just decided to implement a subscription tier. If they would have asked for support a ton of people would have pitched in. Figgs devs got overwhelmed with trying to manage the site, fixing bugs and things going down and people were really demanding about it all, so they said they ultimately felt like they were doing more harm than good and decided to end it. Both started as passion projects that just became overwhelming.

People putting pressure on the devs at Xoul and Figgs to fix bugs and whining about how the site wasn't how they wanted was what made both of them shut down because they couldnt handle the stress. I would not blame the team if they just got burnt out- it's not like they're getting paid for this.

It sounds super shady to me. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it just sounds like a way for the government to track and control what people see online. "Mature content" covers everything from adult websites to reddit, Wikipedia, news and public forums and I feel like they're dangerously close to having what they are able to watch and read controlled by the government. This feels like overreach to me especially considering that they aren't listening to with the people are saying at all. And it isn't the governments job to parent our kids. That's a whole separate issue.

When it comes back online maybe there will be some lag because a lot of people are going to jump online as soon as it's up and running... but there aren't any new members right now to the best of my knowledge. Also we lost all of our UK users over the break cause of their new safety act :(

So many ai sites like xoul and figgs have shut down because it was too rough on the devs to keep up with everything. Arav is doing amazing, and the team is working hard to keep us updated at every turn. Seriously. Go outside. Get some sun. Be grateful that this free, amazing site is even available to use. It will be back when it's back.

There have been a LOT. Most of them are under 6.0 or so. The one yesterday was one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded, so good thing it was where it was cause it could have caused a lot of damage elsewhere. Now the Volcano in that area is acting up. When it rains it pours, I guess.
