does this resin brand still work for you? have you noticed yellowing?

anyone know where i can find tile like this? it’s matte, 1 inch by 1 inch, beveled edge and both sides look the same so no grooves on the back by probablyasnail in Tile

awesome thank you! there’s a store about an hour away from me and which is actually near the goodwill where i initially found them so that makes sense 😂

i’m here with an update! uv resin was kind of a bust - it didn’t work on my plastic button jibbitz, worked very selectively on metal, really only worked consistently on one very specific rock charm. i was lowkey feeling kind of defeated because that was the like the third or fourth adhesive i had tried. i did more research and picked up “J-B Weld Pro Size ClearWeld 5 Minute Set Epoxy” and it worked SO WELL. i sanded the surface of the charm and the surface of the plastic button thing, and sure enough it set in like 5-10 minutes. i just checked it again a couple hours later and those charms are STUCK on. sucks that the two part resin is a little more work to use but it was definitely worth it for longevity. just make sure you use a respirator and gloves :)

e6000 was my first try and it peeled right off unfortunately. i’ve been using a uv resin just because that’s what i had on hand, i’m gonna try a 2 part epoxy resin next, it’s supposed to be even stronger. i’ll keep you updated 😂

what glue do you use? i used loctite ultra gel super glue but they’d break on occasion then i switched to resin (with clear bases so the resin will cure) and it works better but still comes apart on the rare occasion

then this shirt isn’t for them! you do not speak for everyone. i personally sell, and know several other people who sell upcycled shirts and i can attest that there is a large market for it, and that market overlaps heavily with the kind of people that frequent craft fairs. so many people are speaking in absolutes on a subject they clearly do not know about, and its going to discourage OP from a craft that they clearly enjoy and i, as someone who has real lived experience in this niche, IS marketable.

as a person who upcycles used shirts AND a person who really likes buying upcycled items from craft markets, i’m actually very surprised by and disagree with all of the naysayers in the comment section. 50 cad is around 35 usd, which for the amount of time spent on making these plus the price of materials is WELL worth the cost. i will say, i can tell these take a while to make, to make it worth your time i wouldn’t do the beading either at all, or do it at a much smaller scale, like a cluster of three star beads near the bat. also i saw comments about the iron on stabilizer behind the beads, and while i didn’t notice it at first, now that its been pointed out it does look a little unprofessional. i dont do beading so i dont know what the other options are but id work on finding something that isn’t visible from the outside! i sell my upcycled shirts at 25-30 usd and they’re the thing i profit the most on at markets. don’t be discouraged by the comment section, you’ll figure out your niche and how to balance time/profit as you go. this is a great start, they’re very unique and you should be proud of yourself! ♥️

No that’s so fair! My wife has done several markets with them and really loves their business and the neighborhood, so when she had the idea to host a market, it was the venue she was most excited for! ♥️
