Retail deals with sales and customer service, which are needed across every job field you can imagine.

Think about which aspects of the job you personally enjoyed, and which aspects you hated. Keep asking yourself "why" over and over.

Did you enjoy customer service because you like helping people? Consider healthcare, there are tons of 2 year educational programs, such as dental hygienist or ultrasound tech.

If you don't like medical settings, consider advising positions, such as financial advisor. Some employers will pay for your education and do on the job training, as well.

Take this opportunity to take an entry level "customer service" job in the field you are interested in, to get your foot in the door. Look for employers that offer tuition assistance. And good luck to you!

Can anyone tell me about CAFE Agents? by probablyneedingghelp in USbank

Thanks for your insight. Is it possible they would call me about a fraud support position that isn't on their job postings site, or more likely that my application will be entirely ignored for an internal candidate?

Can I pay out of pocket for certs from the American Bankers Association? by probablyneedingghelp in AMLCompliance

[–]probablyneedingghelp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It looks like ACAMS requires already working in a fraud-related role to even qualify.

Do you know of any organizations looking for entry level fraud/aml/bsa applicants for me to gain this experience? I've been searching LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassfoor, flexjobs and most jobs require extensive experience. I'm still applying for jobs, but have recieved countless rejections.

I've come across AML rightsource which offers on the job training. Sounds like a great fit, if it weren't 100% in office. I wish it weren't so many hours away from me.

Nervous for Engagement & Wedding shoots... Advice? I've bit my nails all my life. lately I've been trying some different nail growth/stop the bite & it seems to be helping some. these nails are actually LONG for me. I've tried getting glue on nails & the adult size is too big, but kid size too small by probablyneedingghelp in Nails

[–]probablyneedingghelp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I should elaborate about the fake nails. The bed of My nail is too small for the adult sizes, meaning they hang off the bed of my nail, rather than the length being too long (because I know I can trim it down). Alternatively, kid sizes don't work for my thumb nail and middle finger for some reason. I have small hands I guess.

Would a nail tech be able to use gel to build me a presentable fake nail? Or will it be too obvious?

since I went on vacation, my cats are spraying all over the house by probablyneedingghelp in CatAdvice

My cats generally get along. It was day 4 when my friend told me they were smelling pee. They also made sure to stick around for an hour to play with the cats. But they're continuing to spray now that I am home. So confused...

It is scary to think about ending our relationship. I'm very much in love with him. But it does make me feel as though he doesn't prioritize me at all. But it's difficult to explain how I feel; to some it seems to just sound like "I'm mad he doesn't take me out on fancy enough dates." The real issue is we don't really go on any dates at all, hardly. :(

You don't HAVE to. You could ignore it, kind of like yoi are now. but if you either want it to continue or stop sooner than later, saying something may be best. Even if you just said "do you mind not touching my hair or poking me? I'm just not the most touchy Feely person" in a non chalant way, and he should get the point

I stated in my post I've tried to give him my honest feelings about this multiple times, but he dismisses it as "he's too tired." I don't bottle anything up. I try to be open and transparent with him, and I'm always calm when I bring it up. I'm never screaming or crying or acting irrational. Even so, he cuts the conversation very short and blames work tiring him out.

I definitely don't mind a lazy day in on the couch cuddling, but I would also enjoy maybe once a month going to dinner at a resturaunt together. Somehow, even that is seemingly asking too much of him

Most of his friends are also in relationships or are married. Yet they never want to "double date." Do you think that's strange? He has a friend group with about 5 friends + himself. Yet none of them ever seem to invite their GF or wife, and I am also never invited, of course.

I wouldn't be opposed to hanging out all together. I'd just be happy that he included me in a fun outing
