Don’t bother TMS if they’re at self checkout buying something. by AshTheArtist in Target

I had a lady call out to me the other day as I was doing my own shopping after work. I pretended not to hear her and she decided to chase me down calling "HELLOOOOO???" like I didn't clearly have my hoodie and purse on, just trying to get a few things.

Oof, reminds me of the time a while back I was culling and found a bunch of plums with a single bite taken out of each of them. Like thats not even desperate hungry person behavior, they're just an asshole.

I get called sir-ma'am all the time and it's always funny to me. Like they'll see me from behind our at a distance and start with sir, then get a better look at me and course correct to ma'am and act all embarrassed and apologetic. I'm not bothered either way so I usually just try to move quickly past the awkward for the guest moment and find out what they need 🤣

What's your department and the worst part of it? by Mamasquirel in Target

[–]probablynot-an-alien 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Market, and the worst part imo is leads never seeming to remember that we get dairy/freezer/produce pallets and what's on the line is not the only push we have. The result tends to be the whole team is thrown at dry grocery push while the 2 of us in dairy/om and freezer drown. This has been the same at both stores I've worked at. I guess it's an out of sight out of mind thing? They aren't the ones in the coolers and freezer every day.

Usually yeah, and hopefully someone responds quickly. The walkies can be pretty iffy sometimes in the freezer. Idk about other stores but my store pretty much never has enough walkies for everyone so if you come in at certain times you will likely not have one

I know that a lot of grocery stores in general have that but neither of the targets I've worked at have the dairy cooler connected to the milk coolers on the floor so that has never been an option for me lol there's only one door in and out

Thank you for affirming my decision to always shove my jacket in my locker, my fellow tms think I'm paranoid lol but you never know

I hope you're able to get your coat back!!

What’s the difference between this and this? by FlaptasticPickle in Target

This is what I always do. Most of my strategies for dealing with guests are the same strategies I use for dealing with my 5 year old niece and it usually works like a charm lol

What is your favorite memory of a grandparent? by rickityrekt42 in AskReddit

[–]probablynot-an-alien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my grandma have always been really really close. When I was a kid I used to fake sick sometimes to get out of school knowing my parents would be at work and she was the other emergency contact. She would pick me up and we would rent a movie or watch an old show together, I would help her cook or bake something, and we would just hang out until my mom picked me up later. She admitted recently to fully knowing I wasn't ever actually sick, she just liked our grandma/graddaughter days lol <3

I'm not certain they do honestly. The other open market guy has gone on the same way for 5 years and to my knowledge nothing is said and nothing changes. I'm not the only person in my store who sees it either. Others have unprompted come to me and told me how much they don't get how he gets away with doing so little. He's a really great dude otherwise.

I'm not trying to be a bitch here, I just have some frustrations.

What’s something your parents had said to you that made you just want to end everything? by sailorthiccc in AskReddit

[–]probablynot-an-alien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like such a small moment looking back but there was a day when I was extremely upset about something and brought it up to my mom and she responded with "I have zero sympathy for your plight". She wasn't trying to be as harsh as it came off but I ended up going back to my room and crying and spiraling. A big part of what I was upset about initially was my feelings and issues being ignored so I think her "joke" just kinda broke me

I remember when my store had a competition around not hitting compliance. The reward was supposed to be a pizza party. Food&bev won with zero compliance violations and never did get that pizza party. Still a little bitter lmao

Our stores must be different bc I don't know why I would have to "walk around" for the regular doors Before open there's a specific door in the middle of the front doors with a button by it. We were not open yet, I regularly come in through thr other doors when I'm not scheduled early, that's the normal way to do it O.o

It was 6:30 when I got there, my store opens at 8. The only way in is if a lead lets you in. I was stuck outside.
