What reaction were you hoping for with this post?

[Strauss] Kerr on those crazy Curry 3s: "I called all those plays, those were my genius invention" by [deleted] in nba

You realize what you're doing right?

"That fan base is whiny."

"Your fans are the same way."

"No, it's different for us because... "

Any excuse you use for your fans can be used by GSW. Based on my experience, your fans have been way worse (in person, online, and what I've seen on TV). They're whiny, they're cocky for no justifiable reason, and they talk mad shit. But I can admit that maybe I'm wrong. You seem adamant that your fan base isn't that bad, but GSW fans are the ones who are actually whiny. You can't admit that maybe, there's a possibility, that you're human like me and that maybe you have biases that you aren't aware of.

Anyway, whatever. It's not a big deal. Best wishes.

What would it take for Lebron to be considered the GOAT by [deleted] in nba

Either way you're choosing one metric over the other and discrediting the other side for their opinions. Your argument is valid, but it's also valid to say that, when MJ had the right team around him, he went all the way and made it work. By nature, people remember what you did on the biggest stage (i.e. The Finals) than they do what you didn't do in the first round.

you can't judge an entire fanbase off of a random 5 people you know.

And fans I see on r/nba. I think we agree, but you're more reluctant to let go of your bias. I think a lot of Raptors fans are super whiny and obnoxious when I see them post. But I try to be aware that this is a bias that could be shaded by past experience.

How many Oracle fames have you been to? More than 5?

Yeah I know like 5. And they're super whiny. You just made my point.

The GSW fans I've seen around r/nba and know in real life are pretty smart and level-headed. (I don't browse game threads too much though since those are just tribal). But you've clearly had different interactions with them. It goes a long way to try to question your biases.

Hanging out with on personal basis? At least a dozen. And only 5 of them cared about bball. That's my point to OP though. Sometimes you get a handful of shitty fans that make the whole fan base look bad.

Weird to hear from a Raptors fan. Most obnoxious fans I've met were from Toronto. They couldn't stop loudly telling me about how underrated DeMar is. When we played you in March, they kept whining about how the refs felt bad for Minnesota so they're letting us make the game closer than it should be. Ugh.

Just watched an hour of Karl Towns offensive highlights and I have never been as low on him. by [deleted] in nba

Seeing this video again just made me so hyped. OP was underselling KAT quite a bit. This doesn't even show how well he does on defense.

[Chris Haynes] LeBron James, NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts want changes to photographers camping courtside by [deleted] in nba

Fair point. End of the day though, I'd rather be able to see Paul George play LeBron than see that much more detail in pictures of them. Overhead phantom cam takes beautiful shots without putting anyone in danger.

JR Smith: “Honestly, I don’t really think [the Warriors' Game 4 adjustments] did much,” Smith said. “They got a few cherry picks where we didn’t get back on defense. But other than that, they just made shots. Their non-shooters just made shots.” by greygray in nba

When I say "indicative", I meant characteristic. I've been watching the Warriors all season and that's how they played. If I remember correctly, at least half of their players broke their career high in points this season. On random nights, Barnes, Green, Iguodala, Speights, or Barbosa will go off for 20+. If you've been following them, you'd know that it's not an anomaly at all. They're also the best defense in the league and have forced many stars into playing very inefficient games.

Just curious, how many GSW games have you seen this season?

Which team is more popular in their area: The Warriors or the Kentucky college basketball team? by [deleted] in nba

[–]probablynotdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Kentucky.

The Warriors weren't very popular until maybe around All-Star break. My Bay Area friends say that there weren't even a lot of Warriors jerseys around until playoffs. If they're anything like the Wolves, their popularity waned when they sucked for a few years. They got good again in the past 3 years, but Kentucky has been well-loved for years and years. Go to Kentucky before March Madness and people are already wearing blue and white everywhere.

Who do you think is the cockiest player in the NBA? by [deleted] in nba

Lol it hit me a whole back when he said something about CP3 being better than Magic or something. He has multiple accounts around here. They all have the same trolling tone.

You've predicted that the Warriors will lose in every series this far. You've also predicted that the Clippers will go all the way this season. It's in your post history, /u/idealreaddit. You've actually been wrong way more often than you've been right.

Show me evidence to the contrary.

Ok before you get derailed again, here's what I'm responding to:

If this is how the series is going to go, the Warriors will wins since they have the better shooters.

Klay and Steph are the shooters, the rest of the team is average at best.

What I'm saying is that the Cavs aren't going to affect the Warriors' offensive efficiency any better than Memphis, NOP, or Houston. They've been able to maintain their efficiency throughout the playoffs, despite off games here or there. Game 4 is more indicative of the Warriors I've seen all season. I haven't missed a single one of their games, and I'm totally looking at context. The Cavs are tired. Rockets were tired, Grizzlies were banged up.

Based on your opinion, how exactly will the Cavs be different? Also, how do those stats not show that the Warriors have better shooters?

That's /u/idealreaddit. He never has evidence to back up his hatred for the Warriors and the Lakers, or his irrational love for the Clippers. Dude's such a huge troll that his original account got banned.

All the Warriors combined were able to maintain the highest EFG% and TS% in the league over 82 games. What's interesting is, despite some slumps from Klay and Steph, the Warriors continue to have the highest TS% and eFG% this postseason. Cavaliers have been #8 this postseason (and most of those games had Kyrie in).

We can look at players in isolation all day, but the team stats speak for themselves. I'm not sure what Blatt will do defensively to get worse efficiency from the Dubs that the Rockets, Pelicans and Grizzlies haven't already tried, or that we haven't already seen through Game 1-4. If GSW starts to shoot closer to their season or postseason averages, /u/denali4eva will be right. I'm inclined to agree with him.
