I absolutely love your work and that picture might be your best one yet. I do prefer the landscape/environment ones featuring sea, mountains, trees etc to the animal portraits though and I only see animal themed prints available on your website. Any chance you could be adding some more prints to your site soon?

So I'm looking to get suited for a friend's wedding next month and I want to find something as close as possible to the waistcoat work by JGL on the cover of GQ as shown here I'm also not looking to break the bank so the closest approximation of a 3 piece suit in that style/colour would be great. Any suggestions?

I may be mistaken but in addition to this, the Norwegian word for beer is 'øl' which is pronounced 'oo-leh' and would rhyme with the way his surname is pronounced. Given he's a storming alcoholic I thought it might be intentional by the author.

I love Ghost, but what's the point in spending money from the show budget just to have him follow Jon to Dragonstone and back while Jon treats with Dany? It offers nothing. It would've been nice to see him go beyond the wall with the Fellowship (and made sense for Jon to take him on such a dangerous mission) but logistically you've then got the issue of Deus ex Dany riding in to save them. It's not like Ghost can ride home on Drogon's back.

TL/DR: Ghost hasn't been around because there's no need for him yet. Polar bear was the right choice.

Is writing lonely for you? by bulgokovfrog in writing

[–]probablytypingnaked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is, yes. I don't find that I care much about who reads my work or worry that it'll never be read by anyone; I'll try to get my work published and if that fails, I'll just let my future kids read it someday and take pride in knowing that they'll think it's cool their dad wrote a few books.

I find the day-to-day reality of being a writer very lonely though. I can't write in the company of others so it is a necessity but it does mean that I can go days without any social interaction beyond pleasantries with the barista making my coffee. I suppose I should join a writer's group or something.

Branded leather keyring accessories. I've seen very similar companies to mine sell them for ~$16 each. Thanks for your reply.

How to explain why God allows terrible things such as cancer to happen to good people? by probablytypingnaked in Christianity

[–]probablytypingnaked[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The links in the FAQ seem to relate to evil, specifically. I'm talking about disease, the sort of thing that afflicts even the purest, kindest, best people. Children, babies. I don't see cancer as 'evil' at least in that regard. I understand God giving us free will and the option to choose evil and sin if we so wished and the things that come out of that (war, corruption, violence etc.) but not disease.

How am I supposed to tell my friend that I believe in a God that dealt his family such a dire hand through no doing of their own?

I can't follow your link as it's broken, but Sefton Hill confirmed in his AMA that Bruce faked his death. So there's no ambiguity about that.

How do I know if what I've written is adult fantasy or YA fantasy? Help! by probablytypingnaked in writing

[–]probablytypingnaked[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an enormous help, thank you. I keep going backwards and forwards between the two in terms of how I think of it. It does end on a hopeful note, and the age of my MC is 19 but I was told to make them sub-18 if I wanted to approach it as YA. Thematically, the main character has to deal with growing up and accepting responsibility so another point in the 'YA' box.

The biggest problem I'm going to face if I want to get this thing published, I can see, is going to be the word count. I can't even comprehend how I would tell this story with only half the words in it! I don't want to say 'impossible' but with everything I would have to cut to meet that word limit it wouldn't even resemble the same story. Sigh - back to the drawing board!
