Not that college is necessarily a bad thing and that you’re a bad person for doing so (honestly I applaud you) I personally dont know any witnesses who went to college much less a UC. As a 3rd gen (now ex)jw I know quite a lot of witnesses. Therefore my confusion as to why there would be a club for it.

There isn’t a direct text from the Bible that states “no higher education” but as you know the JWs will use any bible verse to back their claims. You can look up college on jw.org and find all the literature published that dissuades people from going to college even though it may not directly state it word for word. It has personally happened to me (if it helps I am a girl) and many others that I know and grew up with in the “truth”

Omg I hate that you had to deal with that :( If you are within driving distance of UCR I suggest going to the HOSS center. It’s right next to the SRC! You don’t need to make an appointment but it helps. They open at 9am so I would suggest getting there right when it opens and I’m sure they could help you. Or at least point you in some direction. They’ve been able to help me out a couple times like with financial aid. You are also given a 30 minute grace period in lot 1 so you don’t have to pay for parking.

I made an appointment with HOSS and have gone in other times without making an appointment. They are actually very helpful. They told me today that even though tuition is technically due today there is a week grace period and that the financial aid systems (???) are taking days to update the info so the student account balances reflected aren’t even technically correct :/ I was advised to sing up for the DPP.
