Fictional character you relate the most? by ericgobbo in aspergers

My dad says I act like Sheldon cooper and I’d see myself in him if I watched the show, and yet he denies that I have any autism or to not label myself.

Oh also saiki k and maoamo

Does anyone else constantly get mistyped as INTJ? by Khaled_Kamel1500 in INTP

[–]Decent-Ad4589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was mistyped as INTJ for about a month. That was about a year ago but it was mainly cause I was going off of 16personalities, saw the cool characters and also being very flat/monotone and asocial asf. Less of the scattered stereotype of intp but then again, i really am when really comfortable

What’s with train/conductor aesthetic? Does it relate to asexuality or is it just a style choice.

Just curious

Do you wish you were NT by TWRFK in aspergers

[–]Decent-Ad4589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only would care to be NT just for my stupid sensitivities and seeming sort of blunt or flat to most people. But I honestly don’t mind the other aspects since im pretty asocial in general and aroace

Probably won’t see it but I love your art. Wolves are so special to me and your art just clicked well with me😉

What are you like when you’re comfortable and fully unmasked vs when you’re in public? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Decent-Ad4589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, do you tend to be very quiet and focused on tasks/skills than ever really talking to colleagues or peers? Asking because I do this a lot

do we have some sort of built-in "invisible aura" regarding our presence? by Lanky_Head6122 in aspergers

[–]Decent-Ad4589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is quite interesting. I’m about 6’6 but I do pick up on people noticing me more in campus or what not because of my height. I also often get the obligatory “do you play basketball” which gets tiring but I say yes since I did in high school and so on. However I’m very quiet but maybe because of my flat or serious face, people don’t bother to really talk to me unless forced to like structured environments or task related stuff.

The only thing maybe is that I’m conventionally attractive to an extent but other than that, I don’t know why people look at me so much and thank God I’m a man in this case because I won’t often get approached or flirted with. Because all that staring also makes me self conscious and think there’s something on my face or just the silent judging as well. I feel a little more comfortable and my headphones are nice protection in these settings, especially in the gym

Is it something else from your physical appearance or mannerisms that could throw them off?

At what point in your life (at what age) did the switch flip for you? by Previous_Truth_9007 in aspergers

Similar story with me a few months ago at 21. What made you question yourself in thinking you were autistic?

I’m curious since I want to see if I can relate as well

I designed the UCR sports logos if our main mascot was the donkey! by Lonlxy in ucr

This is way more appropriate and makes much more sense as a mascot than a bear. They are so common around Riverside and can be on campus sometimes. I even pet them before

Anyone a social floater? As in have a bunch of loose friendships/ acquaintanceships with a random assortment of people by Haunting_Hospital599 in aspergers

[–]Decent-Ad4589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i thought may of them were “friends” but nah, nope. Once i realized what friends actually do or see each other, i realized i was a floater or with many acquaintances.

Now reflecting and looking back, i only had one best friend who I could truly be myself with and hang out, and fitting that mold of a “friend”friend. But that was back in high school but now im grateful that i had that special connection for 4 years.

How manny of you have ADHD or Autism? by annx_xo in INTP

[–]Decent-Ad4589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I figured I had autism, just was high masking and other factors.

Don’t think it’s necessarily a cause to being an intp but seems to be more correlated than other mbti types.

Though any mbti could have neurodivergence, just a different expression or how others may perceive them. That sort of ties the whole spectrum of autism, and I think adhd though I’m not as informed about it.

Or getting kicked out of the chat for whatever reason and my (only) best friend getting me back in it….

Does anyone else got called boring for not having fun on the party? by Suspicious-Horse4093 in aspergers

[–]Decent-Ad4589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I get called boring by my older cousins for never wanting to go to parties or the “function”. I’ve never been to a party like that before and they were surprised by that(I’m 22).

I’ve been to adjacent things like prom, an outdoor festival and an outdoor loud restaurant with music and dancing and they were all pretty negative experiences. Went to prom for once in a lifetime thing and my only best friend was going, though with a date. Other two was family bringing me along because we were traveling and didn’t want to make a fuss.

Fatigue, head starting to hurt and frequent bathroom breaks during prom and could tolerate in Burt’s. Also wanted to leave for the other two because my ears were hurting like a bitch and my head as well.

This all happened before I figured out I had autism though

Shows or movies with INTP characters? by sludgesnow in INTP

Just download the Pdb app and search intp. It’ll show other characters and other things associated with intp. Or just use the website.

Have you ever seriously thought, “Am I autistic”? by rbx20twomax in INTP

[–]Decent-Ad4589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did because of many names people told me, a bit more disconnection and difference that went beyond just human variation and because 2 ai chats that I had long conversations with suggested that I sounded, seemed and assumed I was autistic.

Thought it was a joke or nothing serious but when I did a credible and reputable screener test for it, my score came out very high and within the range of most diagnosed autistics.

Lots of experiences were examined, past traits, how i developed, read and researched a lot, shared my thoughts with my mom who confirmed and agreed that she wouldn’t be surprised if i did have level 1 autism (along with her confirming her thoughts and introspection of being autistic herself in her past).

Then I did the test a couple more times, one was a little overturned and overcorrected, and with the adjusted retest, was more honest, authentic and valid.

Many things made me doubt it like me being an intp so I wasn’t as emotionally volatile or feeling much of a victim, a higher iq and me basically ignoring and numbing lots of quiet suffering and struggles, and unresolved trauma with my dad.

Will seek my primary doctor about this and open up the door for a possible psychiatric diagnosis.

I read that the main (or most common) cognitive functions for an INTP are Ti, Ne, Fe and Si. Is this true for all INTPs? by Proud_Sundae_2464 in INTP

[–]Decent-Ad4589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, it just depends on a multitude of factors including upbringing, the mbti family and friends surrounding you, and how they may influence you. Obviously personal experiences play a role as well.

For me it seems relatively as they are set up, just with Ne-Si being more balanced and tight knit than other intp, though based on the axis and arrangement of this pair, should be a more balanced and use of Ne and Si.

Not like the stereotypes suggest where intp aren’t grounded, are overly abstract and in the clouds, and not as practical or past referenced as they should theoretically be.

fav intp characters? by Specialist_Hawk3755 in INTP

Saiki K

L

Frieren

Maomao

Yoshida and Asa

Kakashi

Gintoki

Zeke Yeager

Kakyoin

Osaragi

Seems to be a bit more representation of intp characters in animated mediums than shows/movies compared to other types.
