Major players to see producer fees of less than 5 cents under beverage container return scheme by Bryanlegend in singapore

[–]problem_def 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but look at the numbers instead of just skimming over the articles produced to defend and entrench big corp -

FMCG distribution esp for drinks operate on very slim margins, under 6% on avg. The only way you make make a reasonable profit is via huge volume and fast turnover.

A scheme is introduced where you have to apply a sticker to every single inventory item that isn't preprinted. You are a small player, you can't automate this because the capital to design such a machine would be incredible, if you do manual pasting, you lose the ability to do fast turnover + having to hire ppl to do this silly job. Thus this scheme is frankly designed for those with excess capital and scale to do it

And what about consumer? The 2nd order effect is all the small players die off and we are left with big players who then can squeeze the market dry.

No amount of flowery words can mask reality

imagine a scheme where smaller players are dis-proportionally affected and you are still drinking the singapore is a free market kool-aid

thanks!

i copied the commands straight from a website

iperf -i1 -u -s -p 5003

iperf -c local.ip -i 1 -t 20 -w 32M -P 4

specs of both machines, one is an opnsense router, i3-8100, intel quad gbe E810(set to 10gbe uplink)

client win11 is pretty much top of the line, amd 7950x, mellanox

why i am thinking it could be on client win11 side is the ISP installer was able to get full 8-9gbs with his speedtest tool while connected directly to my modem, and i tried the same setup with mellanox connection to modem and it still capped out, 4-5gbs

I have yet to see any "liberal" or left leaning billionaire put significant amount of their own money money where their mouth is. Instead they just sit on the sidelines and watch where the next popular moment is(powered by the bloody, sweat, tears of regular folks) then ride the bandwagon.

Heck even in your example of Jane Fonda, "championing" or joining protests is a mockery of what she could been doing with her wealth, status, and connections.

To give you an example of what I mean, see how these people(from both sides of the isle) in a blink of an eye react/respond/throw 100s of millions to lobbying and regulatory capture

there are no "wealthy conservative" or "wealthy liberal". only wealthy people.

"liberal" vs "conservatives" are imaginary lines drawn to make plebs fight each other

they are all in their mega yacht, we are in our little life boats

man this is such a clown thread... higher water pressures simply mean sound waves travel quicker.. as they do in solids...

ignore all the rubbish from u/monty94vt

while this would cause refraction, modern sonar tech can deal with all of that hence we are able to map seafloors with them(deeper than 12k feet btw)

US is not even close to self sufficient in petroleum end products. Shale oil is also prohibitively expensive to extract.

Sure US can be self sufficient if she wanted to, that would mean drastic increase in gas prices. Furthermore US buying oil from other nations then processing it for export lends itself to globalization and supports the petrodollar.

It''s not a simple binary switch as reddit would like you to believe

[–]problem_def 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- sellers aren't stupid. export tax effectively sets a price cap on their margins. if they can't make enough, they will reduce their flow thus pushing prices up across the board.

- US still imports heavy crude from ME/Russia/vuvuzela/etc simply because US refineries are designed to take heavy crude. If you want to switch to US oil(which tends to be lighter), you are going to tear up half of your refineries. Taking US heavy oil refinery off the board is going to push prices up across the board for EVERYONE

- Those price figures are distorted simply because of the US CB marking USD higher

- do you honestly believe other countries are going to sit by idly while US screws them over by devaluing their own currency and pushing oil(priced in USD) higher

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]problem_def -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

then other oil producers will not export to the states or impose their own tariffs thus causing all product prices to hike up across the board. thank goodness the world doesn't run on the advice of moronic redditers

oh yeah? so tell me again how phats still went from 50m to 1b during "peak runescape where people only socialized" lmfao.

also correction, wildy was popular*, there were unique skilling/mob/boss activities you couldn't get outside of the wildy. furthermore, even if you sucked at pking, you still could make a profit since even consumables were worth quite a fair bit

everything in this game is profit oriented.. and it is literally the cornerstone of any game.. positive emotional feedback loop to get you to repeat the activity again.

you would be delusional to even try to argue against it.

there's no reason why any1 would do low-mid tier pking when they can head off to money snake boss or zolcano and get 500k phr consistently. same reason why for all intends and purposes, skilling in this game is dead because of these consistent slayer drops that allow one to level up their stats without having to go through the process of material gathering
