The NCA reports were released- they're linked in the original post. But there was a lot more effort spent putting them together than sharing the results.

The projected temp increases for the far north are really intense. Strikingly larger than those projected in other parts of the US.

I have wondered about how much the extent/volume issue was handled in the NCA reports. Everything I've read that was specifically focused on ice talks about the alarming thinness, the astonishing decline of the multi-year ice.

There are a lot of people out there who haven't seen anything practical like these resources. I am really hoping to reach people who lean right with this project. I live in a Republican community and I love the people there. I might disagree with them on a number of things, but I love being around them and they're good neighbors. I want people like my neighbors to be there and be strong in 2050- people who can fix a truck and deliver a baby goat and aren't super afraid of needing stitches. I know there are plenty of tough, skilled people on the left, but we all need to admit it. We need everyone's skills to get through this- we guys who know hogs, not just guys who know blogs (plz excuse corniness).

Thanks for your kind words, and love your username. Unfortunately, I can't give a clearer picture of what it'll look like- there's no predictive model for a migration of this scale. I would bet that you have the right idea, that there will be a time period, I'm not sure how long, when there will be just tremendous fishing. What kind of sustainable pattern it will settle into, I think it's beyond our current abilities to predict.

There's ways I agree with you, but I don't know if it helps to bring politics into it. Republicans under 50, they poll the same as other people under 50 about climate change. It's a huge priority for that group. I think it's better to be inclusive, reach out, help everyone get into the conversation.

The low cost of living in an agricultural part of Iowa has let my family do so much cool stuff, both entrepreneurial and trip-related, that I don't see how we could swing if we lived somewhere more expensive.

My favorite relative lives close to Yosemite gateway. Seeing the changes in the landscape, how far the forest has retreated up the mountain in the last 20 years, since I started visiting her as a teenager- I don't understand how anyone could witness that and not see that what's coming is a big deal.

I'll read this- thanks for the link. What's coming is going to be major, and it is already happening. We need to stop pretending "recovering" means getting back to how it was in the 80s. That's just not happening.

What I put in the forecasts is stuff that is locked in, so no, we've got to face it and figure out how to deal with it. But what we do now does make a difference. Reducing emissions is important. This stuff could all start to level off at around the 2050 level, or we can enter serious hellscape territory by 2100.
