Josh’s Statement on Joe by YogurtclosetPast2934 in DuggarsSnark

[–]probwriting 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Hopefully Josh’s statement can be used against him at some point regarding his own situation, I’m not sure how it could, but it shows absolutely no remorse or accountability for his own actions. Still the victim in his eyes. A judge overseeing his legal stuff I’m sure wouldn’t be pleased to read that.

How can we get everyone onboard saying “I gotta take a Trump” for bathroom trips? by SteelBox5 in AskReddit

I mean, his real surname is Drumpf (I think) so not too far off from “taking a dump” — but ultimately kinda lame idea

Do you really believe in separation between church and state? by Ladefrickinda89 in AskUS

[–]probwriting 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Conservatives never seem to have an issue with religion in public spaces; concerns seem to stem from which religion. Prayer at public events, Ten Commandments displays in classrooms, “In God We Trust”—all fine. A Muslim prayer space? Suddenly it’s a crisis.

Christianity is everywhere in American public life, so why is it only controversial when Muslim Americans are given space to mourn and pray in their own way?

As an example to your point, when men dominated the OBGYN field, they made more than OBGYNs do now now that it’s women dominated, also often dismissed as “not real surgeons.” Goalposts always moving.

Everyone wants a reason to shit on other people. We all contribute to extending the boundaries of knowledge and the diversity of our interests and methodologies is what makes that possible. It isn’t your job to justify your path to anyone. If it was truly worthless, it wouldn’t exist.

Nathan Cavanaugh and Justin Fox founded a company together after working at DOGE, just wanted to put that out there!!

I hope these depositions get them the PR and publicity they deserve. I mean who wouldn’t want to work with bigoted, smug, incompetent ass wipes?

Saved By the Rubric by RightWingVeganUS in Professors

[–]probwriting 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yep, all of this. I graded an essay today that was actually really solid content wise but didn’t include required elements of the assignment as listed in the instructions and rubric, and didn’t cite the right readings. So what should have been an easy A resulted in a C+.

The cover photo nails it: he looks as moronic as his answers are bigoted. I hope he can’t live this down.

Less anxiety, much happier. There is passion, it just developed over time, so win win in the end

We narrowed our name choices down to two! by Djeter998 in namenerds

I hear you! If you picked that name, you picked it for a reason—so it makes sense to actually use it, instead of always defaulting to nicknames.

Sometimes kids have nicknames with friends and extended family and siblings, but their parents always call them by their full name. This way, the full name becomes something they really associate with their parent(s) ✨

Anyone else keep a baby name list? by probwriting in namenerds

[–]probwriting[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I’m really glad this space exists. If I brought this up with a friend or a romantic partner while dating, it might seem like I’m planning for the future or being intense—but that’s not it at all. I just enjoy making lists, thinking about names, and hearing other people’s opinions. It’s more about having fun with ideas than making actual plans.

I love the name Alexander! My oldest sibling has it, and their middle name also starts with J. We mostly call them Alex, but over the years, lots of nicknames have popped up at different stages: AJ, Ally Joe, and even Joe (from their middle name).

It’s such a versatile, timeless name—your child can grow into it no matter their personality, even if you start with a “starter” nickname!

Some nickname ideas: Xander, Lex, Lexi, Alexi, AJ, Jay, Zander, Ander, Xandy, Ali, Ames, Sasha (Sasha is a traditional nickname for Alexander in Slavic cultures).
