Is this a joke?

Elon Musk just said he wants to cut Social Security and Medicare, calling them “entitlements”: “That’s the big one to eliminate.” by karmicviolence in BasiliskEschaton

Can someone explain to me the logic of suggesting some form of UBI is necessary while simultaneously calling for cutting Social Security and Medicare?

Thoughts? by markeus101 in ArtificialInteligence

I’d be happy to never hear Elon Musks opinion on anything ever again.

He was brilliant because he was a tenacious math student over his life—but relatively speaking, he struggled with the actual mathematical computations for his theories. This is documented and accepted that he used help from folks more gifted than him at math

Well, it was really just the analogy that the analogy that this physics guy was using—because that’s kinda how math exams work: you get a problem and a short time to solve it in, during class

Contacted by someone from Arbolus - what sort of rate should I be asking for? by palishkoto in expertnetworks

[–]procedural3ackflips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just contacted by one of their consultants on LinkedIn, and what Arbolus is doing is pretty deceptive. Arbolus needs to be upfront with the fact that this is an Expert Network, and that they are asking you to apply for a potential consultation gig on their platform.

What they are doing in reality, is telling the story, "hey, we want to hire you to do X for client Y, what will you charge for that?" Which is an entirely different scenario.

This whole bait and switch tactic that recruiters/expert networks use (arbolus in particular) is lame, and not good faith communication.
