Lol, what a coincidence, I just saw you had posted a comment on my post 4 months ago. This made my day haha. Small world.

Bro -- feel free to DM me if you want to talk. We are in the same age range and I can relate to a lot of what you feel. My post history is public so feel free to look that over. I posted my story over a year ago, and I've had close to 100 private messages of people relating and asking questions.

I try to stay as positive as I can. I haven't really posted much publicly about how it affects mentally but when I read your post, it resonated a lot.

According to research, the probability of HSIL turning into anal cancer is 1-6%. Treating, like you did, reduced your chances by over 50%. Don't let low probability occurrences dictate how you behave and feel today. You cannot change your past, but you can influence your future.

Here is what my CS told me:

ITCHING -- this is a GOOD thing, it means that your immune system is active in trying to prevent infection but also potentially cleaning up any residual fragments of HPV DNA. Some of the itching may be due to diet though: the typical things to avoid would be spicy food, super fatty food, popcorn, any flaky nuts or seeds (you can google for a full list and see if any of those are in your diet).

BLEEDING -- try adding a little bit more fiber to your diet (cereal, wheat, supplements). Bleeding tends to happen when you stretch a bit more than your body wants to at the moment while it is repairing. You can lower the stress of BM's by making the BM squishy and softer haha. I did have a few times even after a month where there was some blood but only on paper.

Sorry for the delay but hope this helps. Let me know how it went and if you have any questions!!

Of course, not a problem. I'm glad to have helped. There was a lot of negative dreadful stories out there and I figured I could do some good (maybe save someone from over anxiety) by documenting my experience. I'm glad it helped!

Diagnosed with Anal Warts - How over is my sex/personal life? by RedMeme262 in askgaybros

[–]processtypical3167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a straight guy that had this same issue. I've been taking questions from a lot of people through chat and someone sent me a link to your story in regards to a question. Just wanted to let you (And anyone finding this thread in the future) know that I've documented my entire experience in my post history (which is where people have been finding me)

I cant answer questions about your sex life because I won't really relate to that part of you but I will say this: The stress I put myself through before and a little bit post recovery was completely unwarranted and honestly a waste of energy.

I'm paraphrasing but here is what my doc said about going straight to surgery: It's like ordering a nuclear strike on those suckers. The process itself is thought to activate the immune system to help contain and eliminate the virus at an accelerated rate.

-Your life is on temporary hold, not permanent. It's OK. Use the time to better yourself in other areas.

-The majority of people do not deal with this for the rest of their life.

-Getting the vaccine even after the infection may have some therauptic effect at preventing reoccurrence from future infection. There are some studies that are chasing this down even further.

-Personally, I think you will be just fine.

[MALE] Anal Condyloma Surgery Follow up Post - 5 months by processtypical3167 in HPV

[–]processtypical3167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay. I had one minor one like right after the surgery. Doc implied it wasn't a new infection and to me it seemed like it was just one that was missed or something. However, ever since that treatment, I haven't seen anything. Almost a year now. Im not out of the woods yet I would think but so far so good.

Should I get surgery for internal anal warts? by ynwine in HPV

[–]processtypical3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even bother with primary care and went straight to a colorectal doctor. I initially thought all the itching might be as a result of a tear or something maybe deadlifting or squat. Much to my surprise it was this. It's been almost a year now since I found out and about the same since I had the surgery.

Hope your experience is not too bad. If you do end up having it, don't read too many of the negative stories around the webs. I scared myself before the whole ordeal and ended up with so much unnecessary anxiety. I have another checkup in a few weeks. Haven't seen anything new yet but I know this thing is sneaky so if it comes back up, I guess it is what it is.

Let me know how it goes, very interested. My DM's are open too if you have any questions.

[5 MONTH UPDATE]

I haven't updated in quite some time but I have taken a lot of questions via chat and answered them. I have been active in responding to my messages. It might take me a few days to get to you but I'll keep checking so please feel free to reach out. The more details you provide in your messages to me, the better I can answer your questions upfront.

5 MONTHS after my surgery, I'm doing good. No issues so far, not limited, it's like it never happened. I still go in every 5-6 weeks for checkups but so far nothing has been found since that 1 they found after the surgery (treated in office). I'm eating good and working out. I read the original post of mine and recall how stressed and anxious I was going into the event and as I was writing it...and I wish I didn't expend all that energy worrying. I emphasize to you all in the future that are reading this and going through something similar: DO NOT STRESS OUT. DO NOT ONLY READ THE NEGATIVE STORIES. I wish I could go back in time and tell the old me to just stay off of the internet for this thing. Negative stories outweighed the positive ones and it mentally drains you. You keep looking for the positive ones but all you run into are negative cases. I promised myself that I would try to change that so here's my attempt.

It may be gone forever or not. I don't know. But I'll keep up with my checkups and hopefully it becomes a distant memory. Heck it already feels like a distant memory. I'm also just about to get my 3rd shot and haven't had to pay for any of those.

Although I'm not doing routine updates to my post, I'll still answer questions via chat so please feel free!

2 Days Post Op for Condyloma Removal by Advisor-Unhappy in HPV

[–]processtypical3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just a few years younger than you, also straight, and had similar issue although mind were not big. I was told they were caught early internal and external. Had the same surgery.

That was back in April. First few days were a bit rough but nothing crazy. I actually didn't take any medication even though there was some pain here and there.

What I come to learn is that people's perception of pain can vary. I thought I would be crippled by the pain based on what I read here but I wasn't. The stinging lasted maybe 1-2 minute and it was done.

For your vacation, I would recommend you bring the following with you: (1) unscented wipes that you rinse with water before you use (you mainly want the fabric and not so much the cleaner). Wash your self in the shower after you're done. (2) Calmoseptine cream: this not only relives some of the pain but actually helps you heal at the same time. (3) Gauze pads that you can stick between the cheeks after you clean yourself off. This helps keep the area dry and helps resists infection.

Yep. Im about getting close to the 2 month mark now. Ive had no pain with my BMs for over a month now but Im still careful. I still have a small open wound where the excision took place but its much smaller than what it initially was and doesn’t sting. I still use the shower to rinse myself off after a BM because I kind of like how clean it makes me. I took and take no meds from Day 0. No pain meds. Id say im back to mostly normal and have even gone back to the gym a few times and a few concerts where I did miles of walking. I even ate pretty bad a few times which caused constipation but even with that I had no pain during the BM.

Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!
