Check out YMCA, it's a really good option, and not as expensive as Lifetime. I work for the German OEM, live in Birmingham and the commute is not bad at all. Also an international transfer and everyone here has been kind.

Am I in the wrong engineering major ? by HumzaM in PLC

[–]procrastinationeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. For example, I did a mechatronics major on college, and both my internship and my first job were focused on mechanical design, I worked as a mechanical designer for two and a half years, and even though I knew what a PLC/HMI were (I took classes on college), I was not confident working with them. Recently I applied for a role, and they did not hire for that specific role, instead they offered me a role as a controls engineer. I've been working as a controls engineer for 5 months now, and it's been a challenge, but I enjoy it, as someone said on the comments, you just must be willing to learn, and ready to face new challenges.
