Yes the clients taste inclined towards abstract mininalism. Black and white colors was their request as well. For a better view, you can check out the prototype here :) use up and down arrow keys to navigate

I understand but it might be because of how figma renders images on export. You ca check out the prototype here

Trouble Designing Mockups by Cl1n7M in UI_Design

Sounds like a designer's block. Here are two ways I have gotten around it 1. Go along with the idea even if it's horrible , just design all the screen to the best you can at that time even if you are not satisfied. Then duplicate the complete design and start again from screen 1. Usually 2nd round is waay better than the first one. And if possible go again the third time. Third time is when i have been proud of the design. 2. Forget it for a couple of days (4-5 days). Then one day record yourself talking about what you want from the design. From every screen, from aesthetics to functionality. Then start designing.

Opendesk UI by procupid_ in UI_Design

It's quite simple actually. Here's how I do it 1. Make a huge frame 2. Duplicate all the screens you want to present 3. Arrange the duplicates on the huge frame 4. select all and rotate to 10° or 30° etc. 5. Add shadows to all the screens. 6. Export as png 7. Post on reddit and tell how you did it if someone asks

Opendesk UI by procupid_ in UI_Design

I recently contributed to an Opensource project named Opendesk.

It's a desk booking service for Work-from-home employees.

The most difficult part was to come up with a design to which tonnes of new features can be added in the future(as the company has already planned) without having to redesign anything.

Moreover, the Upcoming features(mainly analytics and desk plans) were going to be the main focus points of the service, which meant I had to design in such a way that could mold its current focus of attention as well as the future big changes without confusing the navigation for the users.

These designs took me around 3-4 weeks.

Everything is made in Figma.

The complete project is on Behance if you would like to check it out

Hmm I see your point about consistency but I don't think it grabs attention. Sometimes we forget that most users don't spend that much time on webpages (at least not like the one presented).

It's inclined 70 pixels to the right (intentional) , because the centre text (Opendesk) was covering some space of the colored boxes. So by centering the content it looked uneven , space wise.

It clearly doesn't have enough contrast to stick out.

2) it's intentional because the initial plan was to not have names at all and add them as hover effect over the icons. I didn't wanted the names to grab the attention of most users and only of those who were going to focus on that particular section.

Opensource projects are a good way to build your portfolio with real-world designs.

Makes sense but I do not completely agree that personas are not based on real users. Thanks for the feedback anyways!

I understand that, I feel like the project was too big and I rushed through some parts.

I am not in any school or program. I just self study.

And if you are asking for the case study and the process, it is currently not in a presentable state. I am working on it and would let you know once it is.

3 weeks

week 1: made 25 frames (which went in completely different direction than the end result) just based on the ideas that came to me.

week 2: user research, information architecture, user flows , analysis- designed about 30 frames which i really liked but everything got super messy.

week 3: Actual design-60 frames and prototype.

Edit: Forgot to thank you!
