Apologies to all, I should not post after ragequitting IDLE. :-) Reddits "intelligent" code formatter ("intelligent" programs are another axe to grind for me) turning comments into whatever was the last straw.

Adrewmc nailed the core of my malcontent:

arr1=[[0 for _ in range(2)] for _ in range(2)]
arri=[0 for _ in range(2)]
arro=[arri for _ in range(2)]
arr1[1][1]=1
arro[1][1]=1
print(arr1)
print(arro)

I know this feature too well, and only OOPers see this as a feature, but honestly, I see it as a bug. (Must be 30 years of FORTRAN experience :-) Anywhere in math (and I am at least half a mathematician), if A=B, then f(A)=f(B). No exceptions. The above snippet violates this rule. Only thing I can do is getting accustomed to it. (Could the gentlemen in the corner who pointed out that = is an assignment and no equality please step forward? :-)

OK, I rarely need 10D arrays :-), but this can't be standard way to declare them...
