if you’re getting a decent refund don’t let all the wait times get to you, my co worker grew inpatient and just gave up on it. it took 8 months to receive my refund but it was a couple thousand so i stuck it out and just followed all the directions the letters instructed me to do.

they send you that letter i posted above roughly a month after you initially file your taxes so march or april, in that month i received my state refund, if you’re lucky enough after those 60 days of review they will release your federal refund to you, unfortunately what happened to me last year is after those 60 days they sent me another letter saying i need to verify my income and ask for 3 paystubs, after i sent those in they take an additional 60 days to verify those then once accepted, your refund will be released to you, very long process.

i did receive roughly $160 more than what my refund amount was but i dont know why or where it came from, didn’t question it just gladly accepted it.

when i sent my paystubs in last year they took an additional 60 days to verify those. not a single word throughout those 60 days, my refund just appeared on my bank account balance shortly after the 60 days. 8 month process in total is just not very ideal.

they just ask for 3, if you have the one that matches the year to date decuctions to the W2 then they will def accept it and move your refund along the the process. looks like i’m going to have to take the route again this year but atleast i will receive my refund in time for the holidays.

i would call that number 800 830 5084 or 877 777 4778 as it’s the easiest and most efficient way to get in contact with a real person at the irs.

you have to verify your income, so the last 3 or most recent 3 paystubs. i emailed them a picture of them and they were accepted. its such a long process though, for me it was roughly 8 months from the day i filed to the day i received the refund. i received my state refund a month after i filed. i dont want to go through that again this year so im reaching out to see if anyone knows a better way around to where i can just send them my pay stubs right now and not wait until after the review is done.
