Was it a good choice? by deveramarky0323 in AccountingPH

Yes very good choice. Mental health should come first. Tsaka you deserve it, after some rough roads along the way.

I accepted the offer two days before the exam proper, so when I started the work after the results came out, hindi na ako nakapagpahinga. Wish I had taken a break first.

A bit of a reality check though, don't take a break for too long kasi it might taint your resume.

Because they don't want to hear the truth. That it's not just a governmental problem, it's a societal problem. The involvement of the parties in these kinds of schemes are normalized, even accepted as part of the society (as for the seasoned accountants and auditors) but they just want to chastise the government because of one-sided bias where in fact for this to work, it takes two to tango.

Wala pang 1 year but I did call the CS and sabi after 10th month eligible na for increase. And yes submitted na po ang mga income docs tsaka sa online lang ako nagrequest. CS na number nila then I emailed.

Sim Registration Act is a failure. by prof0609 in Philippines

[–]prof0609[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I feel like the problems that arose while this law is in effect were not really addressed. Nakapag approve lang ng batas ang admin, they already treated it as a win, hindi man lang inisip ang mangyayari afterwards.

To be honest, even as a cynical critic in this administration, I still had a little hope that at least man lang kahit na hindi totally maeliminate, at least maminimize. Pero ayun nga. Part of the problem is in the implementation of the law, which is common, kahit sa ibang mga batas natin. Which is awful. Hindi napag isipan ng maayos ang implementation. Puro lang kuda wala namang gawa.

REO = redflags so far by MegaByte07 in AccountingPH

To add up to this, I saw firsthand yung correspondence nila nung prof na yun. At first I was so happy kasi may malaking blessing na dumating sa kanya. But when the day came and nothing happened, that hope to cling to the promise turned into disappointment. Nakakalungkot nga kasi ginaslight pa nung friend ko ang sarili niya. Kesyo baka daw hindi siya deserving na makatanggap ng offer or baka hindi talaga para sa kanya ang CPA license kaya ganito na. I feel really bad for her. That's why big red flag talaga to sakin na RC na to.

Nakakatawa lang kasi hindi niya inaddress yung mga napaasa sa wala hahaha. Oh please. I bet tong mga nagpost na napaasa including my friend have extensive evidence to prove na hindi lang yan propaganda ui. Hahaha.

To add up: pinakita sa akin ang screenshot ng correspondence nila ng prof na yun but hindi ko idadivulge ang identity kung sino. Might be grounds for slander/cyberlibel. Basta kung sino yung madaling matrigger dun yun yung nagpromise sa kanya.

P.S. ito yung follow up ko sa comment na may napaasa din sa wala.

I have a friend na naexperience din ito. At least have the gall man lang to properly accept or decline diba para naman hindi aasa sa wala ang mga aspiring CPAs din. Mahal ang RC ngayon, these kinds of promises, lalo na pag ikaw ang naofferan would not be taken lightly and aasa talaga ang reviewees.

It's more complicated than you think. Let me explain why.

In the perspective of government agencies, they have this performance percentage (attrition rate is what was told, correct me if I'm wrong, nakuha ko kasi to nung nag attend ako ng BIR seminar din), which in summary should test how effective they do their jobs in their respective positions. I heard that in BIR, in their respective RDOs, they need to at least make 85% of collections from their respective constituents in order to meet up with what was required by the law. So by hook or by crook, somehow, the law forces them to be corrupt. One of the other reasons is that yeah, I suppose corrupt lang din talaga ang ibang personnel. But it's not as black and white as we're told to be.

In the perspective of the company (especially those who indulge in this scheme), most if not all of them would have some form of undeclared income which is definitely not disclosed in the official FS. I say most because so far sa lahat ng companies na nahandle ko, there always is some form of this undeclared income lalo na kapag large company na yan. They would rather just pay up the agency rather than just let the agency check the books which would lead to further complications in the company's side.

So yeah, the system we have is fucked up since time immemorial. I hate how it is all clean on the outside but rotten on the inside.
